LEARNING DESIGN
OCTOBER 2018 SEMESTER

1.0 INTRODUCTION

A teacher’s job is not restricted to the activities they perform in the classroom that
restricted to school hours. Next, the teacher are obliged to plan and also make prepare for
what is expected to happen in the class during the school hours. Then, the planning in
teaching is commonly thought to involve in making ‘lesson plan’. However, the each of
lesson needs to address a set of broader objectives, and the teacher also needs to prepare
the several lessons at once. These individual lessons should be presented in an order that
optimizes the student ability to internalize the learning. Next, the order in which lessons
are presented is called ‘lesson sequencing’. A learning sequence is an ordering of
student's learning activities. In the design literature one may find two basic sorts of
instructional design models. Those that focus on materials, i.e. resources arranged to form
an organization of learning-flow content.

The purpose of learning sequence is to make the smooth transitions between the
lessons in order to meet the objectives of that unit plan. Not of that also but it also to
make the effective learning and to achieve optimal learning outcomes. Then, a teacher’s
job is not to restricted to the activities that they perform in the classroom. Planning in
teaching is commonly thought to involve making ‘lesson plan’. On the other hand, lesson
needs to address a set of broader objectives, and the teacher needs to prepare several
lesson at once. This individual lessons must be presented in an order that optimizes the
student ability to internalize the learning.

1.1 Subjects

Based on the learning sequence that I have done, I have to teach my students

about the science subject Form 1. Then, this critical analysis is an effort to reconcile

multiple the evidence base on the science learning that I have taught and in order to

render a clear.

1.2 Goal

As part of their teacher in Science subject, I want the each of student can be

research and expert when they want to do any assignment and I give them in the way

that I have teach. After that, during on what their have learn in the class, I hope all the

students would be able know to read the information from the textbooks and also from

the reference book also pull out the information that needs to be included of their

knowledge. Next, based on the experiments, I hope all the students bring the

knowledge that they have learn when they do this experiments in the other class.

1.3 Objective :

Students who are proficient in science :

I. Is able to know ,use and also interpret scientific explanations of the natural

world

II. The student also know how to generate and evaluate the scientific

evidence and explanations.

III. The student also easier to understand about the nature and development of

the scientific knowledge

IV. The student also able to participate productivity in the scientific practices

and discourse

2.0 LEVEL GRADING

In a class of amount 35 of students, the learning style is very widely. Then,

learning sequence also would give the some of benefit to the learners is who have a visual,

auditory and tactile learning style the most. Next, by different learning style that my student

students should have and it has a influence the level grading of them. The majority of level

grading that my students have is a moderate the learning level. Then, based on my

observation what that I have teach them is I can see all my students have a moderate level

grading when I give them some of exercises and they need to do it in the class. The majority

of them is very easier to understand to find the answer on questions given, but some of their

also not all really confidence with that answer.

3.0 ANALYSIS
3.1 POSITIVE FEATURES OF THE LESSON SEQUENCE

The lesson sequence presented, exhibited the science subjects form 1 with topic the

air around us.

Based on my learning sequence that I have done, sequenced lesson plan can benefit

both of the teacher and also to students. Well organised and properly sequenced of lesson

plans that allow for a smoother transitions which is a unit planning will allows the teacher to

be more aware of the end goals of a learning segment. Then, as a result, the order in which

material is presented , the lesson sequencing is can be planned very well. When the teacher

will plan what is intended to happen during the each lesson, they also will be able to make the

transitions between the lessons as smooth as possible. Next, this will benefit the students, as

well, since they will be better prepared to absorb the new material when it is presented in an

orderly manner.

Secondly, Facilitates scaffolding. Clear end goals and sequenced lessons allow

teachers to anticipate difficulties and problem areas. Additional supports such as, specific

exercises and activities, can be provided to assist students meet the challenge of more

difficult concepts. The teacher can scaffold the subject matter, so that as the tasks grow more

complex and difficult the students will have more resources and insight to draw upon in order

that they meet the challenge successfully.

Beside that, lesson sequence can be better organization. The job of a teacher is

demanding and requires good organization skills. A teacher who sequences lessons will know

in advance what will be covered in a particular lesson. This allows the teacher to prepare

photocopies, worksheets, hand-outs, etc… in advance. Lesson sequencing has some

additional benefits as well. For example, if the class progresses through the material more

quickly than anticipated, the teacher will be able to move on to more advanced tasks very

readily since they have already been planned. In addition, if the students do not progress

through the material at the same rate, the teacher will be able to set up a differentiated lesson

plan to accommodate faster and slower learners since the whole package of lessons have been

prepared.

Besides that, the learning design make efficient use of limited time available to the

learners to catch up the syllabus. In addition, the learning design in design to give directly

link learning goal to activities. An easy way to district busy adults from the course tasks is

neglecting to clarify why they are being asked to complete them. Then, adults will lose their

focus as soon as they sense that what they are engaged in may be busy work as because the

student not only come to get the knowledge but some are deal with certain outdoor activities.

As we know this learning design will help them well. A clearly designed learning experience

can mitigate this.

Lastly, since the unit plans and lesson plans have been prepared in advance, the

teacher will be able to identify the optimal points in the program for checking the students’

understanding of the material and also how best to structure these assessments.

3.2 NEGATIVE FEATURES OF THE LESSON SEQUENCE

While lesson plan is well thought out, contains a lot of good and also very

useful information. It also could stand some improvement and reorganization.

Then, the issue that I have faced during of the teaching and learning process is

internet problems. This is because at my place, there was very slowly internet. So, it will be
my reason of that problem why I can’t finished all my works on time. Not of that only but I
also can’t find and provide the materials to my students. We also know the internet was very
important to all teachers for their readiness. The teacher can get the information from the
internet and making a search to find the material that they want to teach during the lesson.

Secondly, the negative aspect of the lesson sequencing is the failure of the teacher to

allot time for each activity. A good lesson plan should indicate the duration of the periods.
The time allotment also involves the specifying how much the time will be spent with each
lesson phase like are introduction, the body of new information or the time particular class
activity should consume. However, with the different of learning style that students have, the
teacher will have a problem to finish their activities based on the sequence that they have
plans.

Next, a good lesson plan should take into the consideration of the specific

composition of students in terms of their reaction and background to particular the learning
styles. States that lesson plans is means and not an end and it is wrong to follow it without
any of reasoning sometimes. A teacher should be prepared to make a change of she / he
teaching methods from those referred in the plan, if need requires. Then, taking into
consideration, these dynamics will allow the teacher to make a adjust of teaching strategies to
ensure that it gels with students. In the lesson sequence, there was no allowance to allow for
such variations or adjustments.

4.0 HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR ACTIVITY

a) Self preparation
As a teacher preparation is very important to them because before teaching they must
have a plan first. The plan must be clear so that student would be achieve learning
outcomes. The teacher should know the each abilities of student because from ability
teacher can do many activities in class. To minimize the time, the teacher must
prepare the material need in that activity such maker, paper, pencil, colour and so on.
The activity can run smoothly when there is preparation from that teavher can boost
student performance and achievement.

b) Provide a Mentor
Teacher can provide mentor in class and she/he can pick up who the students always
gat the high mark on examination as a mentor. In one group must have one mentor it
can guide the other member. Group of mentoring is the good way to share and honour
the knowledge of individual.

c) Establish ongoing. Open communication

Open communication is important between the teacher and student because it can
encourage the student more active in the class. The student can ask the question to the
teacher if they not understand about the topic. If we do not know it as will be a side of
road. That why open communication can help student more understanding and can get
more knowledge. Teacher will help the student if they require. From activity we know
that the student try to communicate with each other. Open communication we will
know the strength and weakness of the activity from feedback of the students. From
that we learn something and do not repeat the same mistake.

5.0 CONCLUSION
A well detail lesson plan goes a long way in insuring the students learn. Although
years of experience can shore up less than complete planning, it does not compare or
parallel well planned lessons. All inclusive plans increase the likelihood that the lesson
run smoothly, as it facilities students to receive the quality instruction, which are passed
in a systematic way. Therefore, it is imperative that a particular lesson plan not only
meets the syllabus scope requirement specified by the respective curriculum, but also
meet internationally accepted standards of setting a lesson plan.

In conclusion, I have learned a great deal about teaching and how learning sequence
can greatly benefit my students. Using the learning sequences, the enhanes students
learning in many ways and allow for greater flexibility. The students also can learn more
knowledge by planning that teacher have done. The students also can learn by their own
level. However, the learning sequence that I have plan, can give a wonderful tool to help
ensure that my lesson plan are complete. I hope to meet the learning needs of all my
students be they visual, auditory, kinaesthetic or any of the other learning styles out there.

Then, by guiding students, toward active in their own learning. I also so proud of
myself because I can achieve my goal and my objective. Not of that only, I also can
achieve my targets which is my students can adapt and apply the knowledge than I have
give to them. The confidence that their have will make me proud even thought most of
them not really understand.
