Thank you for signing up for a conference time! Coming home

today is a pre-conference survey. Please take a moment to fill
this out and send back in by Friday, Nov. 1st. We are looking
forward to meeting with you to share the great things your child
is doing this year!

Nov. 27, 28, 29- Thanksgiving Break
We have two field trips coming up. One is in November. We
are going to see Bill Vitts on November 12 . He is a percussionist
with the Grand Rapids Symphony. His concert is for third
graders from all across Grand Rapids.
The cost for this field trip is $5.
In January, we will be spending a week’s worth of school days
at the Grand Rapids Public Museum. We’ll have a classroom
there and will be learning with the museum staff. This is an
expensive week that is covered mostly by grant money. We
are asking that you pay $20 to help cover the remaining costs,
including the bus.
We are collecting money for both of these trips at the same
time. Please send $25 in to school by November 8. If this cost is
a problem for your family please let me know, there are funds
available in the office.

What We’re Learning

Bible: We are beginning our
study of the life of Abraham.
Reading: We are learning
about non fiction texts and
their different parts- table of
contents, glossary, tables,
etc..
Social Studies: This week we
will begin working on cardinal
directions.
Math: We are working on
solving multiplication
problems with a variable!
Example: 3•b=15. Students
are working on 3s and 4s
multiples.
Science: We are learning
about habitats and will be
studying our own schoolyard
habitat.
