RENDESVOUZ: SJBPS ACQUAINTANCE DAY 2019

Friendship and camaraderie are vital factors of

being a group. These help the group function more
effectively and help engage each member. The objective of
this Acquaintance Party is for the Johannines to be able to
acquire these traits. Through games and interactions
involved in this event, the Johannines will be able to
strengthen their connections with each other making them
more productive and more confident.

The Acquaintance Party that the Junior High

School and Senior High School celebrated on August 23,
2019 on the grounds of St. John the Baptist Parochial
School requires them to wear clothes from 90’s to 10’s.
The students were grouped into 16 because the Student
Council believed this will help in building more
friendships among the Johannines. The party started at
3:30 in the afternoon with a prayer led by the master of ceremony, Eduelle Jan Macabbabad.
Then, the utterance of the objectives of the
party was made by Ginger de Leon which was
followed by the performance of the Band
Club of the school. After this, the academic
coordinator, Ms. Lucy Naval introduced the
history of St. John the Baptist Parochial
School to the students.

After travelling back to memory lane,

the master of ceremony presented games to
the Johannines. The first game was called
Bingo. The students were given a Bingo sheet
filled with characteristics and they are tasked
to roam around the place and ask their fellow students if they meet any certain characteristics on
the sheet. This game helped the Johannines know more about their fellow students. The next
game was a Scavenger Hunt. This time, the students need to work with their group. They are
given eight clues and they have to figure out what each pertains to. After this, they need to take a
photo of three of the answers. The last game was about tongue twisters. A representative from
each group was tasked to memorize the tongue twister and pass it on to the next members. The
last member must be able to recite the exact tongue twister. These last two games tested the
cooperation of the students with their groups. The winners of the games received prizes from the
Student Council.
After the games, the Johannines were
allowed to eat the prepared meal. Then, the
awarding of the best dressed was done. The
students were required to have their clothes
themed 90's to 10's to get a chance to win the best
dress for the boys and girls. The council members
are the people who thought of the ideas in the
party. And I had thought that it was a boring party
at first but as soon as the program deepens it
started to get fun for us newcomers in the school.
The program was about to end and the council
members or teachers chose the 2 students, a boy and a girl to be given a prize as the best dress of
the night. The winners were grade 9 for the boys and grade 8 for the girls. And as soon the prizes
were distributed the welcoming of newcomers this year 2019 and last year 2018.they positioned
them at the middle of the ground and the water was poured down from the fifth floor. That was
the tradition that they thought over the past 3 or 2 years and still continues.
The event ended at almost 6:00 with a prayer led by the master of ceremony.
