Subject: Changed Settings for Discussions in LEO Platform.
My name is [Student’s_Name], the new student worker for the Communications Art Department
in the university. I am writing to you concerning the changed settings for discussions in LEO
platform. Following the difficulty in changing the settings in LEO platform, I received a notice
from your office to address the issue to enable students and educators clear the frustration and
confusions in an attempt to access and navigate through discussions in their classes. I have
therefore revised the instructions provided by the previous student worker, and this email
highlights some of the changes I made in the instruction’s manual. Some of the changes I made
include:
Included an Introduction
I provided a task-oriented introduction that helped the students to grasp the procedure, audience
and requirements as well as an overview of what I covered in the document containing the
instructions. The significance of the introduction section is that it allows the audience to
understand the background of the issue at hand and then detailing how the problem will be
solved for them.
Highlighted Areas that needed to be clicked.
Just describing what needs to be done is not enough for a grouchy audience. They need to see
what and where they should act on, including the buttons they should click. In the manual, I
ensured that all buttons to be clicked in changing the settings are highlighted alongside the
description to clear all confusion.
Arrowing the final copy of the adjustments
After instructing the students and instructors, they want to see how the final changes will look
like. Thus, I thought it would be appropriate to create a graphic in form of an arrow to indicate
the change I made and to show them what to expect once they follow the manual.
I would like to hear back from you concerning the changes I have made on the instructions’
document. A feedback from you would help to know if there are changes needed on the draft to
make it more useful and meet the intended goals.
Kind Regards.
