Monthly Expenses of Freshman and Senior in Neu: National Economics University Business School
BUSINESS SCHOOL
MONTHLY EXPENSES OF
FRESHMAN AND SENIOR IN NEU
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Case study
Overall both students still depends on family's pension. While the first year
individual doesn’t have a part time job, senior year student is currently working 2
jobs, but her salary is still not enough for covering bills. Mai, the first year student
who majors in English – Bachelor in Business Administration, organizes her
financial plan immediately, after receiving allowance from her mother, she notes
down every expenses that she made. From the first few days attending university,
Mai finds it hard to spend money reasonably, since she does not know a place to
eat lunch with affordable price for a student. In Lan Anh's case, when she was in
the first year, she had more allowance than Mai per month, as the matter of fact
that she lived alone and didn’t accompany with her family or relatives. However, in
2
third year, she stopped receiving pension from family and take care of herself,
working few jobs at a time. Lan Anh concluded that she usually spend more money
in senior year compare to the first year of university, because she has to buy clothes
suitable for workplace, transportation and travelling.
Conclusion
Monthly spending habit is one of the issues that students are most concerned
in today’s society condition and development today. The research project:
"Monthly spending habit of first and fourth year students" aims to understand the
current situation, as well as trends in how university students use their part – time
income, how they spend and save money in general and National Economics
students in particular. From there can help the students gain external information
and adjust for reasonable spending.
Expenditure management has a certain influence on the lives of students.
Spending money reasonably, rationally and in an organized way will help students
become more proactive and will gradually form good habits, capture more
experiences, opportunities and lead to many successes in life. living. With well -
controlled in spending money, students will become more independent, confident,
and do not have to rely on the protection of parents.
This in-depth interview shows that university students still need to improve
their skills in managing and controlling their own spending. Because the failure to
spend in the right place at the right time has led to the loss of control over
allowance provided by families, students' own work, scholarships, etc. and a lack
of money in the last day of the month is common among students in general. Only
a small portion of students have a part-time job so that they can save money to
spend on their work. Therefore, each student should take time to plan and regularly
monitor his or her own spending. Take the initiative from even the smallest tasks,
but gradually will create positive habits in life and the future.
