Environmental protection is responsibility of politicians, not individuals
because individuals can do too little
To what extend do you agree or disagree ?
Give reason for your answer and include any relevant examples from your
own knowledge or experience.
Write at least 250 words.

Humans must take responsibility for their impact on the environment. While I
partly admit the statement that protecting environment campaigns need to be carried
out by legislators, I agree that individuals also play a major role in natural ecosystem
protection.
On the one hand, it cannot be denied that politicians are only who can resolve
complex environmental issues by their authority. Firstly, the lawmakers can make new
policies to minimize the destruction of surroundings. For example, Singapore imposed
a severe penalty to punish anyone who throws garbage and does things harmful to the
local environment. Secondly, governments could execute fundraising campaigns to
raise people’s awareness. It is clear that, money and authority are not possible at an
individual level.
On the other hand, government cannot control what people do in their local. It is
challenging for politicians to deal with environmental problems effectively without
the cooperation of citizens. As a case in point, the lawmakers cannot always beside the
one who intends to throw rubbish on the street. Furthermore, it is flawed not to
mention the importance of the individuals who contribute to positive environmental
changes. For example, people can reduce greenhouse gas emission by taking public
transport use clean energy and try to minimize plastic usage.
In a nutshell, I believe that protecting the environment is the obligation of both
politicians and individuals. We should join hands as soon as possible to save our
world and tackle convoluted environment issues.
