Conceptual Framework

This research study generally focuses on the process involved in combining different

components and materials to build a soil drill/earth auger installed in a metal frame as a support

and for mobility. In designing a four wheeled mechanism installed with a soil drill, proper design

considerations applied. The data/specifications regarding no metal frame soil drill were gathered.

This served as a guide on what to improve and what to add to the new research project.

The conceptual design of the machine was based on the determination of the different

materials needed and the proper structured design in order to achieve a favorable outcome. The

pre-design data were taken into step by step editing, for the improvement of the machine is used.

Necessary adjustments and redesigning were made for the machine before multiple testing. With

this means, the final design was achieved.

Hypothesis

Null Hypothesis:

1. There is no significant difference in terms of time consumption between the drilling process

of the prototype and manual digging.

2. The prototype will not be able to satisfy and create enough depth when drilling in

construction sites.

3. The four wheeled mechanism will be hard to move and will have a slow mobility.

Alternative Hypothesis:

1. There is a large difference in terms of time consumption between the drilling process of the

prototype and manual digging.

2. The prototype will be able to satisfy and create enough depth when drilling in construction

sites.

3. The four wheeled mechanism will be easy to move and will have an acceptable mobility.
