UPES has become a movement to transform lives of
youngsters. While, in the initial years this was done
through Petroleum & Energy domain courses, over
the years we have added domains like
Infrastructure, Transportation, IT, Design, Planning,
and Policy. Today, UPES is recognized as the Nation
Builders University. We have a unique approach to
bringing industry to academics through
participation in curriculum development, curriculum
delivery, industry internships, placement offers,
faculty training, add-on co-curricular exposures,

Two of the country’s incumbent Presidents have

graced the Annual Convocation Ceremonies, a
decade apart. The first ever Convocation was

UPES College of Legal Studies (CoLS) aims to further teaching, learning and scholarship in law. As a
professional law college that offers courses, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, it

DIRECTOR
I appreciate your interest in pursuing a postgraduate/undergraduate program at the UPES College of Legal
Studies (CoLS). This College has been a pioneer in grooming modern day legal professionals with a
multidisciplinary edge since its inception in 2007. UPES is the first University in South Asia to offer the first of
their kind 6 year integrated techno-legal (B. Tech LLB) programs specializing in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
and Cyber Laws. This year two new programs are added in the bouquet of offerings to provide more choice to
the aspirants. Our courses have their foundations in contemporary and progressive curriculum that integrates
concepts in law with current industry needs to ensure students receive a distinct edge in learning. The 360
degree approach to learning at UPES CoLS focusses on imparting strong subject-matter expertise (through
classroom learning, case analysis and rigorous continuous assessments) and top notch practical exposure

UPES Students have been accepted well by the industry, ensuring consistent placements of 85% and above
since inception. Placements 2016 at UPES commenced on a high note yet again with over 150 students
receiving Pre-placement offers and being lapped up by notable recruiters including Tata Technologies,
Accenture Consulting, Wipro Consulting, Dell R&D, Maruti, Honda, Samsung, Nestle, etc. Star recruiters,
including Infosys, L&T, IBM, and KPIT visited in November 1st week, and recruited over 450 students before
festival break. With the current industry scenario, many companies have already lined up for further
placements and seems UPES placements will be much more exciting this year. The Career Services office
works closely with the industry to develop and support collaborative industry academia interface and
facilitates placements and summer internship of students. The team consists of dedicated & experienced
professionals from different sectors of the industry who are based at our Dehradun Campus & Delhi
Corporate office, with a regional presence in Mumbai, Ahmedabad & Kolkata. Under the guidance of the
Career Services department and senior faculty members, the Student Placement committees also play a vital
role in making the placements a roaring success.

SUMMER INTERNSHIPS
UPES understands the importance of Summer Internship program
to provide a unique and rewarding corporate exposure to our
budding pool of talent. While gaining professional work
experience and completing relevant academic coursework, each
student goes through six-eight weeks of real-world work
experience during their internship placement. In our internship
course and program workshops, students explore connections
between academic track and professional experience, and gain
essential skills such as interviewing and networking. Some of the
projects that students have completed through their internships
have been greatly appreciated by the companies. Every year
students undergo summer internships across companies of repute.
