Proposed Title: Proposed Multi-Purpose Building in Hagonoy, Bulacan

REASON(s) / JUSTIFICATION(s) IN CHOOSING THE TOPIC:

Sports plays an important part of an individual’s growth, development of mental health

and physical fitness of the body. Each sport has a set of rules and regulations to be followed
which helps individual to stay fit and disciplined. Through participation in sports and games, one
can gain various skills, experience and confidence that are helpful for developing their
personality. Sports also empower individuals with life skills especially in enhancing one’s
capabilities, acquiring decision making skills, and honing their leadership skills which add values
to their personality. Sports also gives an individual a sense of identity and belonging to a group.
The benefits of sports facilities not only help the body, but they also create a less stressed mind.
People who exercise regularly are more than twice as likely to consider themselves happy.

Our national hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal once said that the youth are the hope of the nation.
But unfortunately, most of the drug users in the Philippines are young people. Sports is also
known to deviate the young from using illegal drugs, it is one activity that promotes health and
wellness even for the elderly. According to President Rodrigo R. Duterte, sports plays an
important role in encouraging the youth to live a healthy lifestyle and keep away from illegal
drugs. “Sports is truly an effective avenue to instill among the youth essential characteristics for
nation-building such as discipline, teamwork, perseverance and all,” he said. “Thus, I encourage
parents to support their children to engage in sports and inspire them to always do their best in
balancing sports and academics. This administration remains determined in pursuing its
campaign to eradicate illegal drugs, criminality, and corruption. I need your support, our young
athletes, in this endeavor if we are to ensure a safe and progressive future for the next generation
of Filipinos,” he added.
. In addition, families will also benefit in this project. Family that plays together tend to
stays together. Family ties are improved by spending leisure time with each other. This effect
even works with parent-child relationships. It will also reduce crime rate with children because
sports center can gives children a safe place to play, keeping them off the streets.

When it comes to cultural diversity, sometimes cultural differences can cause some
problems in community relations and in workplaces. Participating in group activities can help to
increase cohesion in both the community and the workplace. Sports tourism also brings more
cultural diversity to many types of different events.

Sports center can also hold large tournaments that can bring people from neighboring
towns and villages. This increase of people can help bring more revenue into the town or village
a few times a year. Local businesses can also see an increase in revenue during these large
events.

Sports center can also serve as an evacuation center in times of calamities. Hagonoy as
one of the most flood prone areas in Bulacan badly needed the necessity of having this multi-
purpose building
