Detailed Lesson Plan in

Oral Communication in Context

I. OBJECTIVES

At the end of the lesson, students shall be able to:

1. Differentiate facts from opinions;


2. Demonstrate instructional strategies that assist learners in distinguishing fact from
opinion of writing speech effectively or in a written text;
3. Identifies claims explicitly or implicitly made in a written text :
A. Claim of Fact
B. Claim of Policy
C. Claim of Value
4. Express commitment in utilizing specific strategies learners can use to assist themselves
in writing an effective speech; and
5. Watches and analyze a short film and identify the different types of claim present in the
text.

TOPIC: TYPES OF CLAIMS (How to write an effective speech)
