Students will understand that…
In man’s perception, culture changes from time to time, some
beliefs and traditions are influenced by fantasy which lead them to believe
that there are mythical creature and superstitious that exist which portrays
their culture and beliefs. Their beliefs symbolize who they are with
regards to what they believe in and that made them see what their culture
really is. Fantasy plays important role in every culture it can shows how
creative and how imaginative that place could be.

How does distinguishing the types of fantasy affect one’s culture?

Giving varied activities, the Grade 9-A students can:
a. distinguish the difference between each type of fantasy
b. show enthusiasm through participating actively in every activity;

c. compose a song in reflection to one’s cultural background

Activity: Guess That Picture
Mechanics:
Students will look at the screen to identify what is the topic all about.
The teacher will ask for volunteers to identify the given pictures.
Questions:
1. What is your idea about the picture?
2. Can you guess the title of the picture shown?
3. Give other examples of fantasy that you’ve read and watch.
4. Can you elaborate what is the story all about?
b. Motivation:
Video clips of different trailers of fantasy
Activity: Memory Game
Mechanics:
Students are tasked to arrange the rambled words in the screen, whoever got the
right answer should go in front to recite the given word together with it's meaning. The student
who got the right answer will have a perfect point.

3. Interaction
a. Activity: Cabbage Game
Mechanics:
The teacher will prepare a music and a crumpled paper formed into
cabbage, each paper has a corresponding question with different types of fantasy.
When the music play the cabbage paper will roll and when the music stops the
student that got the paper will get one, and answer it on class. The student that
gives the right answer will have a perfect score.

Activity: Make a song composition
Mechanics: Students are tasked to compose a song related to fantasy addressing different
culture.
The teacher will group the students into two and give the student 10 minutes’ time to
create a composition, consisting of one stanza and one chorus. After the given time each
group will present their song composition in class.

In a world full of cruelty, fantasy reminds us how to be happy in simple things. Fantasy
taught us to face challenges with bravery and when you have a good heart everything will
succeed.

Legend uses stories with imaginable characters and happenings that can easily
relate to the students.

Types of fantasy is related to the topic GREEK MYTHOLOGY in the 9 th grade
because both are stories that are created with wide ideas and imagination.
