DEPARTMENTS
The main departments in the organization are as follows:
⮚ Architectural Department:
The main function of the architectural department is to
provide the drawings of the plan of the proposed
site. The design for all the structural members
such as beam columns and also to provide the
details of foundation, footing and the amount,
type and place at which the reinforcement is to be
provided.
⮚ Engineering Department:
The main role of the engineering department is to
perform various tests that are required such as
testing of soil; tests on the concrete etc. The role
of an engineer is also to review the design and
scheduling and supervision the construction
process.
⮚ Construction Department:
The construction department consists of the site
supervisor and different types of workers (skilled
and unskilled) whose main work is to carry out the
construction of the building. The site supervisor
also appoints some of his subordinates to look
over different parts of the construction who then
report to him about the progress about the
construction work.
⮚ Financial Department:
The work of the financial department is to first estimate
the cost of the construction of the site. After the
estimation of cost and starting of construction the
department has to keep track of the amount of
materials and the cost of materials that are being
used.
Week-1
● In first day, we got familiar with the staff of Shilpan and Shyamal Builder as
Company.
whole structural work was given to the sublet contractors and builders.
● And also we are known about project and buildings and plan of that
project.
● The whole project had different structures like building, 3 BHK with carpet
area of 1100 sq.ft., 3 BHK with carpet area of 1275 sq.ft., 4 BHK with carpet
● In my project seven building is there A-1, A-2, B-1, B-2, B-3, C-1, C-2 and
● And 3 BHK with carpet area of 1100 sq.ft. There building are C-1 and C-2.
3 BHK with carpet area of 1275 sq.ft. There building are B-1, B-2 and B-3 and with 4
BHK with carpet area 2015 sq.ft. There building A-1 and A-2.
[BUILDING PLANS]
● We were given an over view of all structures and general information by
Mr. Harsh D. Viroja – industrial mentor and also the project manager. We
were also introduced to all contractors.
● And A-1, A-2, B-1, B-2, B-3 in basement provided but C-1 and C- 2 in basement
is not provided.
[BASEMENT PLAN]
Laser Levelling
The most important thing in civil engineering is the understanding of line and level. Before any
construction work is began, the check of line and level is brought about by various instruments.
The road level is generally taken +0. After that the level is taken about from +1m from the
reference level of 0. It is usually marked on a wall and with the help of auto level we mark the
height of 1m from the road level into all the block columns.
All the height of the beam bottom, slab height, column height, finished floor level is taken from
this 1m reference.
After learning the details of the structural plan, the reinforcement checking of one of the floors
of the blocks was done.
Following this we were able to check any given reinforcement details that were laid in front of
us.
Week-2
● In second week we are going to site and study about whole plan and also
study as a site engineer work is very difficult.
● We got to know the initial process which shall be done when this site
commence such as foundation of A-1, A-2, B-1, B-2, B-3 and commercial
building.
● When I am gone that time half work is over foundation of C-1 and C-2. In C-1
and C-2 footing is over and column is stated.
● In C-1 and C-2 were use mat foundation because due to mat
foundation whole structurer weigh is goes down on soil.
Week-3 and Week-4
● When half week 3 foundation of C-1 and C-2 is over than were started B-
1, B-2 and B-3 of ground Flore slab.
● B-1, B-2 and B-3 using 10mm, 8mm and also 12mm dia. bar are using in
slab.
● And also commercial building in slab work is started and in this slab in
using 10mm and 8mm dia. Bar.
● and also night work is started at mid of second week because of deadline
of building is near so night work is started.

Week-5 and Week-6
● At middle of week 5 B-1 & B-2 slab work is over and in A-1 & A-2 building retaining wall
is complete and C-1 & C-2 in plinth beam is complete.
● And stated building A-1 & A-2 in slab work and B-3 in also stated slab work and C-1 & C-
2 in plinth beam is complete and commercial building in slab work is over.
● Slab in use M20 grade concrete and beam in use M25 grade concrete.
● Slab in use reinforcement is 10 & 8 MM dia. And column in use reinforcement is 20
MM dia.
● And also commercial building in slab work is over and curing time is stated.
● Curing time for slab is 5 day and for column is 6 day.
● Allow proper time to water cure. After concrete is placed, the concrete increases in
strength very quickly for a period of 4-7 days Concrete which moist cure for 7 days is
about 50% stronge Uncured coconcrete.

Theories learnt in 3 years & Its use in training
Theories such as building materials and constructions that deals with various materials used for
the constructions has a practical use of it in the real industry. For example, AAC blocks,
pavements, different types of admixtures, timber, wood etc are used in modern world
construction. All these materials were thoroughly discussed by our training mentor in free hours.
Also, structural analysis’s real-world applications were known during the site visit where I dealt
with various parts of building such as foundation, column, footing, slab, beam etc.
FUTURE PLAN
I would like to pursue my career in construction and project management field as I am fully
dedicated to the work related to this field. Also, my industrial training was partially based on
this practice. Besides this, I would to learn data analytics as freelancing hobby.
