I. Objectives
A. CONTENT STANDARDS: The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of axiomatic structures
of geometry and triangle congruence.
B. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: The learner is able to communicate mathematical thinking with coherence
and clarity in formulating, investigating, analyzing, and solving real-life problems involving congruent
triangles using appropriate and accurate representatives
II. CONTENT:GEOMETRY

Questions:
What are the measures of the following:
𝐸𝐷 = 6 cm. , find ̅̅̅̅
If ̅̅̅̅ 𝐴𝐵 = _________
If ∠ C = 33o , find ∠𝐹 = _________
If ̅̅̅̅
𝐴𝐶 = 10 cm , find ̅̅̅̅
𝐹𝐷 = _________
What is the sum of the angles of ∆ACB?
B. Purpose of the Lesson
To determine the two sides and the included angle of one triangle which correspond to the
other two sides and the included angle of a triangle, respectively.
Two triangles are congruent if two sides and the included angle of one are congruent to the
corresponding two sides and included angle.

H. Making generalizations and abstractions. SAS is one way of proving two triangles are
congruent. The other proofs are side-side-side congruence and the angle – side – angle
congruence.
I. Evaluating Learning: ∆𝑀𝑁𝑂 ≅ ∆𝐵𝐶𝐷
Using a ruler and protractor, diagram/draw the two congruent traingles with one angle
equal to 45o (5 points).
J. Additional activities
Using a ruler and protractor, draw the two triangles having the measure of 63o - 37 o - 80 o.
Question: Are the two triangles congruent? Why?
