History defines a chronological record of significant events often with an explanation of their causes; a

branch of knowledge that records and explains past events. Therefore, through this we can look back
and thank those people who made one institution stand stronger at present and served as a guide to
pursue one goal to become more productive than the past.

The history of David Moises memorial High School came into existence way back 1977 through a
barangay Officials of Balit with Mr. Ronaldo Bacuna being the lone and pioneer teacher of 70 first year
students. Some elementary teachers acted as part time teachers with Mr. Regalado S. Lapidez as
Assistant Principal.

Due to the necessity to employ teachers Mrs. Marjiolina Biogos and Ms. Ninfa lagon were hired in 1978-
1979. During its second year of operation, third year level was opened with 30 students coming from
MATEC (Mambusao Agricultural and Technical College) and other neighboring schools were accepted.

Mrs. Elizabeth Inocencio and Mr. Robinson Brillo joined the teaching staff in 1979-1980. The latter
became the first CAT Commandant and was able to have their first graduation ceremony.

1980-1981, Ms. Teresita Lustica and Miss Diana garino were hired as new teachers. Mr. Regalado
Lapidez retired from service and was replaced by. Mr. Jesus dela Cena Jr. as Assistant Principal in 1981-
1986. Mrs. Elena leal and Ms. Victoria Ermosillas were hired in place of Mr. Robinson Brillo and Mrs.
Elizabeth Inocencio who were transferred to other schools.

From 1986-1988 Mr. Romeo S. lagon automatically became the Assistant Principal due to his promotion
as Elementary School Principal of Balit Elementary School. The teaching staff kept expanding since Mrs.
Sandra Dolfo, Mr. Renato Baje, Mrs. Elvira Salistre and Miss Cecilia V. Asis were hired as new teachers.
This suggested that the need for new teachers rose as the number of students continuously increased.

Due to the mandatory DECS order that all Elementary School Principal acting as assistant Principal of all
Barangay High School be relieved, automatically Mr. Romeo Lagon relinquished the duties and
obligation to Mrs. Ninfa Lagon Laguda who assumed the role as Office in Charge(OIC) of Balit Barangay
High School form 1988-1994. It was during that period when the school has acquired its new school site
donated by heirs of David Moises through the benevolic act of the late Mr. Ruben Moises, one of his
siblings. The school was one of the recipients of SEDP Package building. It was also during that period
when the school was nationalized and was named David Moises Memorial High school.

More teachers were added to its existing Faculty.

From 1994-2001, Mrs. Lydia F. Danugo was assigned as the First Secondary School Principal. More
projects for the improvement of the school were carried out like the construction of school buildings,
enclosure of the school site with concrete fence and concreting of school ground. With the large number
of students in her term, the school opened an annex at Tumalalud with Mrs. Marjiolina Biogos as Office-
in-Charge (OIC). But later, the extension school became Mambusao National High School.
