Before 1972, pupils graduated from San Francisco and Taguiporo
Elementary Sch hoolsave to walk or pay 15 centavos in a kalesa
or tricycle to travel the 3- km. unpaved road leading to the town
proper where two private schools offer secondary education,
enduring the heat of the sun, rain, and dust. Most of them were
children of farmers who value the importance of education as a
way of life to uplift their future and contribute to the progress of the
community. Being in private school, the parents have to sacrifice a
lot of endeavors just to send their children to a higher level of
education. Thus, the leaders of the 3 barangay composing the
community, SACATA (San Francisco, Cabaruan, Taguiporo) saw
the importance of putting up a sec- ondary school within the
community to bring higher quality and low cost education available
to the resi- dents.
With the initiative of the three barangay captains of SACATA (Asesiclo
M. Ibarra, Silvestre Rombaoa, and Elegio Baylon Sr., and Dominador
Bagay, respectively) and the compliance of their barangay council, a joint
resolution was passed requesting the national government to provide the
community a secondary school for the benefit of their constituents. This
resolution was forwarded to the municipal council headed by Hon. Mayor
Catalino S. Modomo and Vice Mayor Buencamino Bermudez, who, in turn,
got the support of Congressman Eduardo Cojuangco who sponsored the
approval of this resolution. So, in March 1972, the SACATA Community High
School was founded with the initial funding from Congressman Cojuangco
and a subsidy from the na- tional government. An old Gabaldon Building is
the office of the principal and library, and a 3-room Marcos Type unit located
beside the San Francisco barangay plazuela, vacated by San Francisco
Elementary School, served as the school ground for the first two classes of
the pioneered institution.os)
a household word. And in March 1975, the school produced the first batch of graduates.Mr. Ignacio C.
Alegre took over for more than two (2) years and retired from the service. Mr. Conrado D. Valdez,
elementary school principal, took over and served for two years. With the nationalization of barangay
high school in 1989 where free education was given by the gov- ernment that causes secondary
schools become inde- pendent and full management and supervision was un- der the designated
Officer in-Charge (OIC).Mrs. Teresa C. Tullao got the OIC position. With her leadership, the FVR and
JICA buildings were put up. Teachers were requested totaling to 12 in her term. In 1995, Mrs. Tullao left
the school and promoted principal at San Manuel High School. Mr. Jesus S. Bayle was appointed as
the OIC for several months until Mr. Valdez came but did not stay long.In February 1996, Mrs. Josefina
S. Rigor, HT III, assumed as the OIC and served the school up to 1997 but she was promoted and
assigned in another school designating Mr. Bayle as OIC from 1997 to 2000.In May 2000, Mr. Diosdado
Dela Cruz took over and supervised and managed the school up to 2002. Opening of SY 2002-2003, -
Mr. Hilario Valdez re- turned and again served the school for almost one year afterwhich Ms. Corazon
V. Abellar, HT-III, took the management and supervision until the present time. Physical and ground
improvements were started as her accomplishments. The School Head, Ms. Corazon V. Abellar, is look-
ing forward that after more years, we will have better facilities in the improvement of teaching-learning
pro- cess.To all who have contributed and are still continu- ously contributing for the attainment of the
MISSION- VISION of the school, a HIGH SALUTE! You have done a great deed, worthy of praises and
recognitions, of respect and admiration. We are proud of you and you shall remain in our hearts and in
