BASIC PROPAGANDA STRATEGIES

Teacher’s Activity Students’ Activity

“What can you say about the picture?” “It’s Pepsi Ma’am!’’
“It somehow asks everyone to join’’

‘’That’s right! Because one characteristics of

Bandwagon is asking or joining the crowd to take
action or be a part of the action that is going to
happen.”

1. Bandwagon-asks people “Join the crowd” and take the action because “everyone” is doing it.

Teacher’s Activity Students’ Activity

“What about this example?” “Ma’am, that’s William Blake.”

“What about him? What’s with him? How is he

being used in the product that he is endorsing?” “He’s famous for being one of the great basketball
players in the world “
“There is a message from him Ma’am”

“That’s right .What is the impact of that message “Ma’am , through that picture along with the
and the endorser to you?” message, costumer will likely to avail or buy it
because of William Blake’s influence to people
“Yes Ma’am, and the fact that basketball is really
one of the sports that everyone most especially
Filipinos are fond with.”

2. Testimonial- a well known people or authority figures endorse the product services using their words.

Teacher’s Activity Students’ Activity

“Now let’s have the third strategy. What can you “It’s Jadine Ma’am!”
say about this example?
“It’s Jollibee Ma’am!’’

“They are prominent love team Ma’am!”

“Precisely! All your answers are correct. But what “They used celebrities to promote the product”.
do you think is the similarities of transfer and
testimonial?”How about the difference? “There’s no information from the product being
advertised or message from the
celebrities.Ma’am!”

3.Transfer-When a product is sold by the name or picture of famous person or thing but no words from
the said person or thing
Teacher’s Activity Students’ Activity
“Let’s have the last type of propaganda strategy “It’s Del Monte Ma’am!”
used in Advertisement. What product is in the
picture?” “The word Super is repeated Ma’am!”

“Yes it is. What can you notice from the message

or information in the picture?

“Exactly! Simply because this last propaganda

strategy used in Ad is the REPITITION, which uses
repeated words or phrases several times for effect.
They believe that through this strategy the
customers or people will immediately retain the
message in it. And that it catches the attention of
the buyers. In effect, people will be influenced to
