Anecdotal Note: Describe what you saw the child do and/or heard
the child say.
Arianna is setting the table with her friend. She pulls the chair away from the table with both
hands and sits down on the chair. Once she is sat down, she scoots herself closer to the table
saying to her friend “watch me this is what you need to do.” She looks up at her friend across the
table ask to play with her. She picks up the red cup with her right hand, tips it up to her mouth and
pretends to drink while expressing little gulps like she was drinking. She then picks up the pizza
from her plate with her right hand and brings the pizza up to her mouth. Right before it gets to her
mouth she says, “oops it is not ready got to put it back in the oven.” Her friend tells her it is ready,
and Arianna says, “no it is not ready!” Arianna looks to her right towards the oven and says, “ding
it is ready!” She takes it out of the oven with both hands while saying “it is very hot now be
careful.” She walks over to the table and places the pizza at her table and says, “it is ready.” She
sits down on the chair and scoots herself close to the table again. Arianna picks back up the pizza
with her left hand and says, “it is just right” with a smile on her face. Two boys came wanting to
play and she didn’t want them to. The teacher helped so they could all play together. They sat
there eating and drinking in silence and then Arianna said, “that food was great and hit the spot
just like the food my mom makes.”
