Comments
 Service Status setting in Normal NE is same as root NE. So do the same steps for normal NE.
 In a hub if there are two IDU’s use LAN cable between NMS port to NMS port.

VLAN Assignment of Modem (Radio Link) Port

Assign the VLAN of Site MMN012 to the link MMN012-

MMN008 Modem. Use the same procedure as described in
previous slides:
Internal Only▲

VLAN Assignment to other port facing MMN751-BSC

As there are two IDU on MMN008 station and our example link is in
second IDU but the link with BSC is in first IDU. Therefore we use
Ethernet Ports and a physical LAN cable between two IDU’s. So we
assign VLAN to eth port02 which is connected with first IDU.

VLAN Assignment to LAG Ethernet Group:

At BSC site VLANs of all

cluster Sites are assigned to
two GbE Optical Ports.
Normally 3rd &4th port is used
in iPaso. We set LAG function
over these ports. These ports
are physically connected with
PTN via fiber cables and then
PTN is connected with BSC. So
we assign VLAN of our example
site MMN012.
Internal Only▲

Tips for VLAN Configuration:

 VLAN is used for ZTE SDR in Telenor Vega Project.
 We assign VLAN to ZTE SDR and same VLAN is assigned to NEC iPasolink’s ethernet and modem
ports from terminal site to up till BSC site.
 In a hub site we simply assign the VLAN to MODEM facing terminal site and to MODEM facing BSC
site. Same rule of thumb is used for all the hub in the path.
 If there are two IDU’s in a hub we use physical LAN cable between two IDU and assign all the VLAN
coming from sites to both end IDU’s eth ports.
 VLAN mode is always “trunk”
Internal Only▲

Equipment Clock Setting:

Use this setting for Root NE. Root NE is always master and
all other NE’s are salve in iPaso Network.
Internal Only▲

Equipment Clock Setting: Slave

For normal NE use this Clock Setting. Normal NE is always

Slave.
Note: In a hub if there are two IDU’s then the first IDU will be
slave and second IDU will be master. All other IDU connected
with second IDU will be slave.
