After having covered all the activities and content established in the OVA 4, you are ready to
do the fourth activity of this course. Read the text about a superhero, complete the gaps with
the verbs in past tense and write about his special powers. Use could or couldn´t to talk about
his habilities.

A long time ago there was an extraordinary boy called Jiro, he lived in small Japanese village
in the Akashi mountains. his father was an inventor. he built robots from parts of electrical
appliances. his mother taught geographic at the village school.
When he was ten, Jiro made an important discovery. he could run faster than any of the other
boys at school and talk with the animals in the forest.
One day, Jiro was running through the forest when suddenly the birds stopped singing. ten
seconds later the ground started to move under his feet. at first he thought he was dreaming.
then he understood what happening. it was an earthquake.
Jiro turned and ran back to his home but when he came to the village, it was not there. where
is my village and my family? he shouted. Mario, one of father robots, was hiding in the trees.
Mario said the village flew away. run quickly and maybe you can find it.

come with me, Jiro said. and they ran down the mountain, searching for the village.

 Jiro couldn´t fly.
 Jiro couldn´t become invisible.
 Jiro could run faster than any of the other boys at school.
 Jiro could talk with the animals in the forest.
