A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson

Look at the following pictures. Have you seen them personally? Are they real? Do
they really exist in this world?
B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson

Read the objectives of our todays lesson which we need to attain on the slide
C. Presenting Examples/ instances of the new lesson

Let us read orally through pop reading the story “Biag ni Lam-Ang”.
Afterwards, you are going to read the story silently.
D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #1

1. Who is the main character of the story?
2. What are the unbelievable or extraordinary strengths or might that Lam-Ang could
do?
Can humans possibly do these? Why?
3. What are other unbelievable events that happen in the story?
4. What events in the story are actually happening in our lives?
5. Do you believe in the story? Why?
Children, the things that are unbelievable or extraordinary, supernatural, make-believe

events or things are called Fantasy. While things or events that are actually happening or true
are called Reality.
E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #2

Read carefully what is written on the meta cards. Distinguish which among them is
reality or fantasy. Place them on the proper chart. Determine if the sentence tells reality or
fantasy. Write your answer on the blank.
1. Turtles helped one another.
2. Animals talk like people do.
3. Turtle thought of a clever way to fool Carabao.
4. A turtle’s shell is hard and strong.

Let’s have a zumba or warm up entitled, “Baby Shark” by Pinkfong. What is all about
the video clip? Can you tell other animals that you see in the video?

Look at the two pictures. Can you tell what group of animals can be found on the first
picture? How about the second picture?
Today we will learn about vertebrates and invertebrates.

Let’s play an interactive quiz. Click the animal that does not belong to the group.

Have a look at the pictures. What animals are shown in here? What is common to all
of them?
What animals are shown on the pictures? What is common to all of them?

Let’s watch a video clip. Listen very well and take note the important details in the
video.

What are your dreams and goals in life? How do you plan to achieve them?

Let us read orally through pop reading the fable “The Grasshopper and the Ants”.
Afterwards, you are going to read the story silently.

1. Why are the ants working hard?
2. Why did the grasshopper choose to sing than to work?
3. Why did the grasshopper go up the anthill when winter came?
4. How did the ants treat the grasshopper who begged for food?
5. What is the storyteller’s purpose in writing the story? Cite situations in the story
that support your answer.

Have a look at the underlined phrases. What are the words that made it up? It is made
up of prepositions and its object (either a noun or pronoun).These are called prepositional
phrases.
