2 1 Preface
Bo?/. da\it appliance should operated by the person specially assigned It's
used only when training and abandoning ship
2 2 Attentions at mounting
2 2 1 The boat davit apphance should be mounted strictly based on the
documents we supplied, including wiring of electnc motor and control
.->.
2 2 2 Gear box should be filled with enougli ISO VG68 or other
lubrication oils whose viscosity are also similar.
2 2 3 One-v^ay brake D must be filled with lubricating oil pnor to staring
boat wmch (Designation no of oil is N22 GB443-87 or ISO VG22)
2 3 Operatmg method
2 3 11 Dunng whole operating, any person should be forbid to stay under
the lifeboat so as to ensure the safety of person
2 " 2 Starting
Remove all obstacles on the deck, open the stop handle of stop unit on
the davit, first start wmch manually to ensure the stop rod of stop unit to
be unloaded (Upon the completion of manual operatmg, the manual
\j:C\s ip.ust be removedjRemove fastening wires and lashmg wires by
mjnuai. thus tiie boat may be lov^ered
2 '- 3 Boat lowering
After ti-'e completion of preparations as above mentioned, passenger(s)
:r:Ji\ directly enter into the lifeboat from embarkation platform In
er.e'-ger.c> all passeiiger(s) may board at same time, the passenger(s)
v% :triin the boat should sit dovk'n and fasten safety belt The operators from
a position witliiR the boat pull the remote control nylon rope to ensure the
biake counterweight to raise, and falls of wmch will release. At tliis times,
d e :o the action of gravity of lifeboat, the davit ann will tum out to
outboard with the lifeboat together, the operators contmue to pull the
le ".icte n\ Ion rope to ensure the lifeboat to lower till to water surface, open
the hook on the boat and ensure the boat to separate from the davit, the
liieboat may leave the parent ship so as to escape
2 3 4 Boat recovering
2 3 4 1 Before recovering boat, first check the stop rod ofthe stop umt
whether it is at its stowed position when releasing (fixed by spring)
2 3 4 2 When boat sails under the davit (boat bow is at the direction of
ship bow), the two crews on the boat hold the boat fall cham respectively
TO couple them on the hook
2 3 4 3 When the self-v/eiglit of floating block can't overcome the friction
moment induced by the wmch dmm tummg m opposite direction, only by
raising the counterweight E, and putting the manual handle mto the
position B, the empty hook may be lowered quickly. (Upon tlie completion
o: .v'aPL'.a" operating, the manual handle must be taken out) (see sheet 8/8)
2 3 4 4The operator on board stands by the rail on deck and always
obsei-ve the boat Press wmch button to tigliten the boat falls to hoist the
boat, then continue to tighten to ensure the floatmg block pushing the head
.. cd\-: aril (See Fig Ii and make die davit ann be tumed m from
OLitbcard position to inboard position Wlien the davit anns reach their
fy a' position, the limit switch will actuate to cut off the pov^-er to boat
Winch and make the boat wmch stop rotatmg At this tune if the lifeboat
aoesn't come back to its stowed position, a manual handle may be used to

Fig I
2 3 4 5 In case of hoisting elecfrically, ifthe power on slnp is abmptly cut
off. manual handle may be used to recover boat by manual (With the
manual handle at position A)

2 3 4 6 After the lifeboat reach its stowed position, by means of employing
the stop unit of davit ann to fix the da\it ann. Then wmch operator raise

c) According to tlie increased value of the air-gap, take off the
washers properly (the thickness of one washer is 0.5mm) and adju.st the
air-gap to comply with the value specified in tab 3.
d) After all parts are mounted, measuie the air-gap length again,
assure the value in the desired range.
6.9 If the brake release is expected when the winding is disconnected
i from the source, screw off the bolt 4 and take off washer, then sciew
the bolt 4 to push the armature to the left to eliminate the gap, thus
4 the braking disc and the armature are released and the motor can he
operated.
6.10 During operation, if some troubles appear in the brake for exam-
ple, the excited winding is disconnected, the silicon diode is damaged or
the dc power line is disconnected and so on, then the motor is m
braking rondiUon. Switch off the motor at once, take off the load of the
motor and repair. After trouble is cleared, reset the bolt to the onngmal
position and through tnal operation, the motor can be used.
