    Vincent Van Gogh Painting

    1st Grade

    Day 1: Oil Pastels


    ❏ Powerpoint on Vincent Van Gogh
    ❏ Draw Horizon line
    ❏ Oil Pastel (yellow and Orange) Moon & Stars
    ❏ Circle glow around moon and stars

    Day 2: Paint
    ❏ Paint ground Purple or blue
    ❏ Paint sky big brush strokes purple and blue
    ❏ Make sure to remind students to not paint over oil
    pastel stars and moon
    ❏ Cover most white on paper
    ❏ Paint swirls for wind with white paint

    Day 3: Buildings
    ❏ Cut out Black Hill in foreground
    ❏ Cut out buildings, roofs, windows, & doors
    ❏ Have at least 4 Houses
    ❏ Have smaller paper of all colors cut for buildings to reduce wasted paper

    Day 4: Finish Buildings

    Materials Needed:
    18” x 12” white paper
    Oil Pastels (Yellow & Orange)
    Paint (Purple, blue, white)
    Construction Paper (All Colors & Black)
    Scissors
    Glue
    Scrap Bucket
    Notes: Review Van Gogh facts everyday before starting. Use scrap buckets on tables to help with clean up
