Text Response

As confirmed by her mentor Ms Comunale demonstrates proficiency in areas of Planning and Preparation. She understands the relationship among standards, essential questions, student learning objectives, and
assessment; lesson procedures are learner-centered, logically sequenced, and differentiated at appropriate levels for her students. In particular, Ms Comunale develops lesson procedures and tasks that are relevant
and engaging to her students. An area for continued growth in Domain 1 is gaining deeper knowledge and confidence with math content and nuances of teaching it. This will develop naturally with professional
experience.

Text Response

Ms Comunale sustains a positive and productive classroom environnent. Students and teacher(s) are consistently kind and respectful to one another; her use of established cues and prompts helps to provide a sense
of routine and reassurance for students. Ms Comunale's interactions with students are equitable; she invites opportunities for them to engage with her and with each other. Although students are typically well-behaved
during class, Ms Comunale is alert and efficient in redirecting them as needed during classroom transitions. Overall, the classroom is a safe place to learn - intellectually, socially, and physically. As her mentor noted,
there are some aspects of professional practice during the school day that Ms Comunale has not yet established; for example: hallway movement, dismissal, morning routines... Proficiency in these areas can logically
develop as Ms Comunale's experience during the residency matures.

Text Response

At this time, all areas of insructional practice are developing very satisfactorily. Among Ms Comunale's strengths are her clarity with giving instuctions, her developing skill with facilitating discussions about math and
analyzing implications rather than simply delivering content, and her creation of engaging lesson segments through a variety of strategies: direct instruction, small-group activities, and performance tasks. By
diversifying her instructional style, Ms Comunale helps students find meaning in the content. Ms Comunale has a good sense of pacing; she is perceptive about the tone of her lessons and makes thoughtful
adjustments based on students' responses and results of formative assessments. Among the more nuanced professional skills that will develop as experience continues are: facilitating questioning sequences to
incorporate a broader range of student voice and anticipating/pre-empting students' potential misunderstandings with new content.
