PREFACE
We proudly present you the
second edition of the Corpians
Animation Program (CAP)
newsletter that covers the
events of the department of
Corporate Secretaryship from
the month of October up to the
first week of December.

The Editing team has taken

tremendous efforts in making
this edition of the newsletter a
successful one and that which
is loved by the readers.

Inauguration of the Corporate Secretaryship Association took
place on 12th of October 2019 in the MEASI auditorium. Ashfaque
Ahmed Mecca, director of Farida group of companies, was
invited to be the chief guest for the function.

The function started off with invocation by Corpian Abdul

Wajid. After that, Corpian Shahid J., read out the reports of
various activities conducted by the department in the first
quarter and its various achievements and laurels during the
period. Chief guest was then felicitated with flower pot and a
letter of gratitude.

CAP Newsletter was then presented by Corpian Yushey and

officially released by the chief guest. CAP awards were also
presented to the awardees. After that, the chief guest
delivered a very motivating speech and also heavily
appreciated the efforts of the department towards the society.

Corpians Sports League was conducted on 11th of September 2019 to promote the sporting culture
among the Corpians and also served as a basis for the selection of the department team.
Four games: Cricket, Football, Throwball and Volleyball were played between 7 teams.

Alumni Corpians Akbar, Shainsha, Arman, Liyakath, Akbar and Sharib helped stage the event by
refereeing or umpiring the activities.

Best sportsman award was given to Corpian Muthassir Basha for his athletic performance in all
the games. Chief Guest and referees were honored with gifts. Page | 2

NIMMATHI ILLAM
The Corpian’s Hostel Team i.e.
Team 5, visited an Old Age
Home named Nimmathi Illam
(Tamil for “House of Peace”)
which was just opposite of the
college, on 2nd of October 2019.
The objective of such an event
was to expose the Hostel
students to the feelings of
abandoned and lonely Senior
citizens, since these students
have themselves left their homes
to pursue their studies.
Around 11 AM, Principal of The
New College Abdul Jabbar sir,
Deputy Warden Kamal Nasar sir,
Librarian Lukman sir and
Corpians’s most beloved
professors Ansar sir and Razvi
sir entered the Illam and talked
with each of the elderly people.
Principal sir and the Deputy
Warden sir jointly planted 2 tree
samplings in the Illam, in an effort
to promote the Greenery.
Snacks, sponsored by Ansar sir,
were also distributed.
The team entered the Home with
a delicious breakfast sponsored
by Deputy Warden Kamal Nasar
sir.
The house consisted of 15 Senior
citizens, 13 women and 2 men,
and 6 members of staff serving
them. The students had a healthy
and interactive discussion with
each of the Elderly person.
They were also enriched with
vast knowledge after meeting
some of the people, who were at
their time very popular and
proactive.
In addition to this, one bed
spread, one bed sheet and two
pillow covers were also
distributed.
At around 1 PM, lunch was
served in a tiffin carrier to
everyone present. After the
lunch, the Hostel team had bid
the staffs and the elderly people
of the Illam a goodbye.
It was a day for the Hostel team
to talk about, as they had learnt
so much from such little time.

WHICH HAS GIVEN IT AN
EDGE OVER THE OTHER
DEPARTMENTS.
Our Department’s Football
team reached the finals, only to
be stunned in the penalty.
However, in Badminton, the
fire-breathing Corpians Hasan
and Aslam came first and
second respectively.
In the Weightlifting, Corpians
Sheikh, Riyas, Jainul, Irshad,
Ibrahim, Suhail, Hassan,
Khalifatullah, Taufiq, Ijaz,
Muzammil, Abdul and Noor had
helped the department win 33
points in various categories of
the Weightlifting competition.

Since the coaching classes are

starts, some of the students
(especially the ones who live in
faraway areas) have to start off early
from their homes. In hurry, some of
them often skip their breakfasts.
The Department of Corporate
Secretaryship decided that the best
thing to do for them is to provide
them breakfast in college itself. Also
among them were economically poor
students, who couldn’t afford to have
examine the papers after it has been
submitted.
Coaching was also provided for slow
learners every morning and these were
taken by Professor M Ansar sir and also
sometimes by the committee members.
In addition to this, Viva Voce was also
conducted for all the students in an effort
to prepare the students for company
interviews in the distant future. Dress
code and notes written by the students
during the semester were checked, and
those who failed to display the same were
not allowed to attend the Viva.

Certificate of Gratitude and Flowerpots
New schemes introduced by the
Corpians in this quarter also
include the introduction of
Certificate of Gratitude and the
Flowerpots as a token of honor to
the guests.
Instead of the traditional honoring
by offering Shawl to the guests,
Corporate Secretaryship decided
to scrap it out in lieu of paying the

Under this scheme, PowerPoint
Presentation and guest lectures
were conducted for the students
of first year and second year, in
an aim to improve their
presentation skills, academic
skills and much more.

CORPIANS EXCEL IN GURUNANAK & ETHIRAJ
The fabulous Corpians yet
again excel in an Inter-
Collegiate event in Guru
Nanak college and then in
Ethiraj women’s college.
In Guru Nanak college, the
Corpian AdZap team of
Imran Nazeer, Rafiq,
Shabudeen, Aasif and
Faizal won second prize in
the competition, and thus
were rewarded a cash prize
of Rs. 1400.
CORPIANS HELP CLEAN UP A CITY PARK
On 6th of October 2019,
Team 6 headed by Corpian
Afzal helped clean up an
old, abandoned city park in
Kodungaiyur. Chief guest of
the event, Mr. Mohan, AE of
Corporation office, arrived
along with his friend and
was felicitated with sapling
as a token of respect. Team
members wore their gloves
and masks, and began their
work.
Refreshment was provided
to them by an Alumnus
Corpian Shaikh. Tea and

In the Ethics’ 19 conducted in
Ethiraj college on 3rd and 4th of
October, the Corpian AdZap
team of Imran, Shabudeen,
Rafiq, Faizal and Fayaz, won
third place.
In the Pot Pouri event, Khalid
and Imran Nazeer paired to win
the first prize.

Team members were
welcomed with praises and
appreciation from the local
public. The objective behind
such an event is to promote
cleanliness, greenery and
also to provide a clean space
for the children to play.

Distribution of Nilavembu Kashayam

From 21st to 23rd of October local Auto drivers, school

2019, Department of
Corporate Secretaryship’s
CSR branch prepared the
traditional Ayurvedic medicinal
syrup called Nilavembu
Kashayam and distributed it
not only to the College
students and professors but
also outside the campus, to
students, teachers and also
the public.
This medicine has various
uses, and its more commonly
used as a prevention from
diseases like Dengue,
Malaria, etc.
