To Whom it May Concern,

Andrew Rousseau is an exceptional student. He is in my Media Studies class at Swan Valley High School
where I work as the High School Media Specialist. This is Andrew’s second year in Media Studies and he
has served as a mentor to younger students and as a role model as well.

Media Studies is an elective that is only offered to junior and senior students who show an exceptional
sense of responsibility. It requires the ability to work independently with little direction, to run the library
in my absence, and to provide exceptional customer service. Andrew embodies all of those abilities and
more. He is always hard at work, and is willing to go the extra mile to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Andrew’s main responsibility within the Media Studies course is to help run our V-Team (Vikings
Technology Education Assistance Mentors). Swan Valley Schools is a 1:1 iPad district so each student and
staff member have a device. The V Team was created to troubleshoot software and hardware issues that
come from those devices and other technology issues within the district. As a senior V Team member
Andrew has become an MVP who will be sorely missed next year. He is always the first person willing to
pick up a tool just to try and see how things work.

Andrew is also our 3d printing guru. He has solved many problems around the school by using TinkerCad
software to create new things in our Makerbot. If I need anything done on Photoshop, Andrew is the first
person I go to. He creates fliers and posters for all of our library events and completes the tasks swiftly
and efficiently.

As a librarian I am particularly excited when students begin the school year as readers, but Andrew is a
special kind of reader. I can take absolutely no credit in his love of books, especially since he has never
read a single book I have recommended. He devours high fantasy novels consistently, but he is staunch
in his book opinions and rarely takes suggestions. I am amazed at how easily he immerses himself in the
different worlds and talks animatedly about what he reads.

I am confident that Andrew has a bright future ahead and that he will excel in anything he puts his mind
to. Andrew will make an excellent college student because he is hard-working, responsible, and cares
about his education. He will be a lifelong learner and I can’t picture him not reading. I am honored to
write this recommendation letter for him and I know he will go far. Please feel free to follow up with me
