1.0 INTRODUCTION

SKLJ’s HIP Day is designed as one of the myriad activities prepared by the English Language
Panel of SK Long Jaafar under the Highly Immersive Programme (HIP). Pupils are hoped to get
a lot of exposure to English Language from the activities conducted during the programme. It is
highly desirable that through these activities, the love of English Language can be inculcated in
the pupils. It is also anticipated that pupils will be more motivated to utilise the language
comfortably in and out of the classroom.

2.0 AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF PROGRAMME

The aims of this programme are to create a more conducive English Language learning
environment in the school and to provide ample opportunities for the pupils to participate in the
various programmes actively. Apart from that, this programme also encourages the participants
of all level of proficiency to feel free to speak and interact using the English Language. All
activities are conducted in the English Language.

3.0 PROPOSED DATE AND DURATION OF PROGRAMME

The SKLJ’s HIP Day will be held on 14th May 2018 (Monday) from 8.00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.

4.0 TARGET GROUP

The programme will cater all pupils of SK Long Jaafar that is approximately 622 pupils of
heterogeneous abilities. They will be divided accordingly by Year. Each group will be assigned
with a facilitator-teacher to assist pupils throughout the programme.

7.0 CLOSURE

It is fervently hoped that this programme will be a great success. The English Language Panel
of SK Long Jaafar wishes the activities that will be conducted will boost the confidence level of
the pupils of SK Long Jaafar in utilising the English Language in and out of the classroom, thus,
the level of immersiveness of the target language of the school community is preeminent,
improved and sustained.
