DAILY LESSON PLAN

Grade 9

Content Standards:
The learner demonstrates an understanding of the underlying principles in
measurements and calculations.
Performance Standards:
The learner independently performs accurate measurements and calculation based on
given tasks.
Learning Competences:
Compute for the value of resistors based on its color code.

I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:
a. identify the different types of resistor;
b. compute the resistance of a color coded resistor using color coding chart;
and
c. share the importance of resistor.

II. SUBJECT MATTER:

Topic: Perform Mensuration and Calculations

Sub Topic: Resistor Color Coding
Code: TLE_IAES7/8MC-0d-2
Reference: K12 Basic Education Curriculum LM Consumer Electronics
Servicing, TLE 7-8 LM, Q2, pp.23-39
Materials:
Values Integration: Orderliness and cooperation
Time Frame: 50 minutes

III. PROCEDURE:

A. Pre-Activities

 Prayer
 Greetings
 Classroom management
 Checking of attendance

B. Review
Let the learner recall the last topic
Class what have you learn our last topic

C. Motivation

The teacher will show a short video clip about rainbow.

 What have you observed in the video?

Did you know class those colors can also be found in the resistor? But in the
resistor those colors represent a value.

D. Presentation of Lesson Proper:

1. Activity
The teacher will divide the students into 4 groups, each group will be given a
picture of a type of resistor they need to be identify and discuss with their group
mates.

2. Analysis

After the group discussion let every group representatives to go in front and
identify the given picture and discuss in the class.

3. Abstraction

The teacher will discuss the different types of resistor and how to read the
resistance value of a color-coded resistor using color coding chart.

4. Application

In the same group assigned to the students, the teacher will provide
each group a tabulation form and 4 pieces color-coded resistor with different
values. 5 points will be given in every correct answers.

IV. ASSESSMENT

Short quiz ¼ sheet of paper
