World Environment Day is observed on 5th June each year. For the upcoming year 2020, the
United Nations (UN) wants to educate worldwide population about actions that can improve the
Earth’s Environment such as planting trees. As a graphic designer, your help is required for the
educational campaign.

a) Using SCAMPER and morphological matrix thinking methods, elaborate in both words
and illustrated visuals two conceptual strategies for the theme: connecting people to
nature.

b) Select one strategy proposed at (a) to design a poster for the World Environment Day
2020. You are required to make use of multiplying and concentric illustrating techniques.

c) Employ Diagrammatic solutions and Macro Drawing approaches to illustrate the

instructions on how to plant a tree:

Step 1: Dig a hole 2 to 3 times the size of your tree container

Step 2: Remove your tree from its container
Step 3: Gently break the root ball to free the roots
Step 4: Place the root ball in the hole dug at Step 1
Step 5: Backfill the hole with the soil initially removed
Step 6: Apply water to settle the soil around the tree
