Detailed Lesson Plan in TLE 6

I. Objective: At the end of the lesson, pupils are expected to:


1. Give the meaning of marcotting.
2. Demonstrate the steps in marcotting and
3. Apprehend the benefits of marcotting.
II. Subject Matter:
A. Topic: Marcotting, TLE 6 AG-0C-3
B. References: Home Economics and Livelihood Education 6 pp. 77-80
C. Materials: knife, yarn, transparent plastic cellophane, soil and pictures
 Values: Health and safety practices in planting.
III.Procedures:
A. Motivation:
1. Did you ever try to plant fruit bearing trees?
2. What fruit bearing trees did you plant?
3. Aside from planting seeds, what do you think is the other method that we can use?
B. Lesson Proper:
1.Topic for today is all about marcotting. Any idea about marcotting?
-Video Presentation-
2. Discussion: This is all about marcotting
Marcotting- Is the propagation where branch is still part of the mother plant
that can produce a new plant with covering rooting medium into debark stem

3.Group Activity:
-Let the pupils prepare the materials needed in marcotting.
-Teacher demonstrates on how to marcot the plants (Watch carefully because
you will do this later)
-Present the steps in marcotting.
Step 1. Gather all the materials needed
Step 2. Select a branch that can be marcotted and girdle it.
Step 3. Removed the bark and scrape the cambium layer.
Step 4. Wrap the debarked branch around it with soil and cover with plastic
cellophane then tie thoroughly.
Step 5. Wait for it to keep the soil to induce roots to grow.

(We can plant more trees easily in a short period of time.)
(We can get lots of food from fruits and get money from it.)

C. Enrichment Activity: Go to your group and perform the activity in marcotting. I will give 5
minutes to do the task (Teacher supervised while having the activity).
