This is the third week of our study, we learnt about leadership and Teamwork. The goal of this
week was to understand the idea of leadership and team management in a project. The issues that
arise with leadership and team management ability in projects. And thereby by learning all these
be able to develop a projects leadership and team management plan.

Some of the key elements which are appreciated and most welcomed in employees are their
behaviour in building bonds with customers and co-workers. Communication skills, which help
leaders guide the teams effectively. Having such qualities in you helps you stand-out and
advance faster in your career. I studied few methods which helps in good communication
practice with your clients ands customers. Which eventually builds up a good relationship and be
beneficiary for both parties.

I became aware of the marshmallow challenge and how the nature of teamwork plays a major
role in it. How it helps in sharing experiences, common language, and prototyping & facilitation.
The key to success which was learnt was managing your work. Any team who can manage and
focuses on the work are significantly able to improve the performance of the team. Specialised
skills and in addition being able to make things easier by making group members understand the
common goals and be able to help them plan to achieve the goals are blends that result to a solid
success. Furthermore, how high stakes activity involve a lot of risks and has a serious impact.
Success is the combination of high skills and Incentives.

I now know the roles and responsibilities of a project manager, and how they always come
across ethical issues. I also became aware that there is a project management Institute which has
codes of ethics for the project management profession and which needs to be followed. Some
ethical issues they face are public safety, industrial plant location and pollution. I studied skills
which is required in a leadership and teamwork management. Furthermore, based on Tuckman
Model of group development how a design can be developed.

Reading through the three journals gave me an idea of how project mangers and their leadership
skills have an impact on the project. How the outcomes of the work performance have been on
the construction industry based on the project managers leadership styles and subordinates. The
three journals consist of data gathered by qualitative and quantitative research methods. Which is
a solid way of analysing performance.
