I found coming up with an idea as I had done a short film before so I
had some experience with that also I had watched several short films
in my spare time so I was able to generate a idea after that. The idea
came from me thinking how I could help the world with my short film
so rather basing it over fiction stories I went for a problem in the real
world so my short film can actually help people Also I went for a
difficult genre which is teen drama and crime which is really hard to
do well since you have to have all the effects good and make sure
they really show your point. Also in this genre there are some code
and conventions which I haven’t done before so I thought that could
challenge me in a different way therefore I chose my short film
based on what can help me as a young film maker and what could
help the world. By watching shor films usually that really had helped
me to generate a idea that is not impossible but challenging for me.
Writing the proposal had helped me since I was unsure on some
parts but then me finalising the idea really got me thinking about
how I could use certain techniques to portray the story. Also writing
the proposal gave me some ideas on different short films and what I
can do in both and which short film will be the most beneficial for
me. Also it had made me realized the problems in our current
circumstance with Covid-19 it made me realize that it will be hard to
find actors in our current circumstances. To improve I will have to
plan it very well and try my best to find all the people I need in this
current predicament.
My feedback had helped but didn’t make me change my idea fully it
had just made me tweak some parts as my feedback had said there
are lot of short films based around my genre so I just had to make
mine more unique and make it stand out in its own way so by doing
research and analysing short films I can see what I need to do in
order to make mine stand out more.
