How Does Camouflage Help Animals

Survive?

After this activity you will be able to:

o Identify the different purposes of camouflage.

o List the types of camouflage.
o Compare and contrast the differences and
similarities between the types of camouflage.

Directions
1. Open the App Store or the Google Play Store
on your mobile device.
2. Search and then download the app ‘Google
Expeditions’
3. Once the app has finished downloading to your
device, open it. You can sign in using a google
account if you want but you do not need to sign
in to use the app.
4. In the ‘Search Tours’ bar at the top of the app
search “Survival.”
5. Click on the first tour that comes up, it is called
“Learn About Animal Camouflage”
6. Go through the guide by clicking ‘view.’ Read each
section of text. After you are done/while you are
doing the guide complete the questions and
activities below.

about today. Make sure you write the animal AND
what type of camouflage they use.

Now pick TWO of the types of camouflage and use the

Venn diagram below to compare and contrast the two.
Make sure you label the circles with the two types you
chose.

*As a reminder, the outside of the

circles is for what is DIFFERENT
between the two types of
camouflage. The inner (overlapped
part) is for the things that are the
SAME between the two types of
camouflage you chose.
