Goals Essay

Goals are things you work hard for in your life or career to get where you want to be.

Having clear goals will allow you to move through your studies and into your chosen career, but

also provides motivation of what you want to achieve. A long-term goal is a goal that requires

time and planning and takes several years. My long-term goals are becoming a nurse, traveling,

and building a family. A short-term goal is something you can fulfill in 12 months or less. My

short-term goals are to certify in CNA, graduate high school, and get into college.

After graduating high school my goal is to attend college and work. While being in

college I want to work as a CNA so I can put my certification to use and get more practice as a

nurse. I want to attend Chattahoochee Technical College and get my associate degree in nursing.

To get my associate degree it will take me two years, but I plan on furthering my education in

nursing to get a higher paying job in the medical field.

My dream job is a registered nurse. Registered nurses assist physicians in providing

treatments to patients suffering from a variety of medical conditions. An advantage of going into

the medical field is that it will allow me to have many options as to where I can work at.

Common places for a registered nurse to work at are outpatient facilities, clinics, and community

health centers. I envision myself working in an outpatient facility or a clinic. My everyday

routine would be waking up at a proper time, eating breakfast, and putting my full effort into my

career.

10 years from now I imagine myself married to a wonderful man that cares for me, shows

me respect and someone I would love to grow old with. Once my husband and I have stable jobs,

a good income, and can provide a good and loving home I would want to consider the idea of

having kids. My plan is to save as much money as I can the first part of my life so when I have

my children, I will not have to send them to day care because I want to raise my kids and not

miss any of their milestones. When I imagine my family in the future, I imagine myself with four

kids and two dogs. I have always loved the idea of having a big family with my significant other.

Most of my life I have lived in Cartersville and I do not see myself raising my kids anywhere

else. I want to live in a house big enough for my kids to have their own room, a big back yard for

my dogs and a background pool. My dream car has always been a BMW and my mom dream car

is an Cadillac Escalade. I want my family and I living middle class nothing big but nothing

small.

The process in setting goals helps us determine what we want to do in life and how far we

want to get in life. I chose goals I know I can reach if I try and put my mind to it not unrealistic

goals. I plan on keeping up with my goals and setting dates for all my goals so I can accomplish

them all. My accomplishments as a registered nurse will determine how I live my life. The goals

I set for my self are a guide to succeeding in my future.
