This video showed teachers talking about how they have
implemented ways for their students to feel safe at school.
The video talks about childhood trauma. The trauma that
Fall-Hamilton ES focuses on is trauma caused by lower
income environments and gentrification. The school
develops safety measures that highlights a supporting and
nurturing environment. I think more schools should provide
Dazamarie Wells-Dismukes
a safe haven for their students like this.
Making Students Feel Safe QUESTIONS..
https://youtu.be/iydalwamBtg
1. Describe an obstacle you could face when implementing
a social and emotional classroom learning environment?
2. Describe the difference in perspective a teacher may go
through after receiving ACES training.
3. Interpret the effects that trauma can have on youth and
how programs like the one implemented at Fall-Hamilton
ES can help improve youth outcome?

How to Make Effective videos for Learning
https://youtu.be/8Swzhq9Pnr0
In this video I watched teachers explain how to make instructional
videos. The teachers explain that instructional videos can help enhance
students learning at home. Instructional videos allow students to learn at
individual paces. I learned that videos should be shorter and broken into
sections. I also learned that it helps to use visual ques and short quizzes
after learning material. I think instructional videos can be effective if
used correctly and not as an exclusive teaching method.
QUESTIONS…
1. Describe the benefits of integrating a classroom with technology.
2. Compare how the classroom learning environment would be
effected with technology versus without technology.
3. Argue how teachers can improve student learning with
instructional videos.
I watched a class of students grades 3rd through 8th
perform beekeeping. These students read an article
Dazamarie Wells- about bees being endangered and used this
knowledge to create a beekeeping area at their
Dismukes school. The class was taught by two different teacher
with different expertise, but they worked together
Science Literacy: harmoniously. I think it’s innovative to use a two-
Sparking Curiosity teacher classroom. I think having two teachers helps
teachers and students participate in a rewarding
and Solving Real cooperative classroom.
World Problems QUESTIONS…
https://youtu.be/IpV 1. Reflect, do you think you could handle working
gjiCKK4s with another teacher in on classroom?
2. Propose how you would use science literacy to
teach real world problems.
3. Describe the importance of allowing students to
participate in hands-on classroom experiences.

60 Second Strategy: Teacher Que
https://youtu.be/Z6qw4TRqU64

In this video I watched a teacher explain and show a teacher que. The teacher que is on
the whiteboard where students can write their name when they need help from the teacher.
The teacher que allows the teacher to help students personally during group projects.
Before watching the video, I didn’t know that teachers use a teacher que. The only
downside I see with this method is that some students still may feel too shy to put their
name on the board in front of all their classmates.
1. Why or why not do you believe that teacher que is an effective tool for classroom
management?
2. Express how a teacher and student could both benefit from a teacher que.
3. Do you think the teacher que allows for more one on one time? Explain your
response.

A Student-Centered Model of Blended Learning
https://youtu.be/zrR-KIoggf4

In this video a teacher explains how he has used blended learning to help his
students. He explains how blended learning has helped students who have
been frequently absent catch up on missed work. Blended learning consists of
students watching videos and completing guided notes. Blended learning
takes place in the classroom and fosters student independence. I think more
schools should implement blended learning models especially if they have
high truancy rates.
Questions..
1. How would you implement a model of blended learning?
2. Do you agree with the video that blended learning allows for students
to “catch up” to a lesson they may have missed, why?
3. Describe a time when you were in a classroom and felt that you were
learning material you already knew. How would a blended learning
environment could’ve helped this situation.
In this video I watched a teacher explain how she has
implemented the pom-pom jar as a form of reinforcement.
When a student helps another student, they add a pom-pom
to a jar once the jar is full the entire class gets a party.
Overall the pom-pom jar is used to teach kindness to the
students. I learned that you could use pom-poms as a form
Dazamarie Wells-Dismukes of positive reinforcement. I like the user of pom-poms to
60 Second Strategy: Pom-Pom Jar
https://youtu.be/B8MAAd3P8Hw promote classroom peacefulness.
QUESTIONS…
1. What grade do you think using a pom-pom jar as a
reinforcer would no longer be effective and why?
2. List some other ways to promote classroom kindness.
3. Argue why you think pom-pom jars would be effective
in a classroom setting.
In the video I watched dysgraphia be explained. The
video informed about what dysgraphia is and how the
disorder effects the learner. Dysgraphia is a learning
disorder. This disorder is mainly categorized as having
improper or sloppy handwriting. Before watching the
video, I didn’t know anything about dysgraphia . I plan
on using this knowledge to help my students and keep
Dazamarie Wells-Dismukes an eye out for this disorder.
Supporting Students with
Dysgraphia QUESTIONS..
https://youtu.be/HPMaxsSJMwI 1. What could teachers do for their students with
dysgraphia?
2. What are some writing tools that could be given
to students with dysgraphia to assist with
writing?
3. How would you remain empathetic to your
students with dysgraphia?
Dazamarie In this video I watched a teacher explain how a thumbs up
response promoted classroom participation. The teacher uses
Wells- the thumbs up response to allow students to contribute to an
Dismukes overall answer. This method allows students to have an entry
point. I learned that not all students process information the
Inviting same. I think it is a good idea to use a thumbs up response it
helps promote student participation.

effect do you think this has on student self-esteem?
