Read the following passage and answer the questions that follow:
One sunny afternoon, Banu was flying her kite in the park. She watched it climb
higher and higher into the sky. Her kitten watched the kite in the air.
“Look at my kite, Kitty!” Kitty ran to a tall tree.
“Oh, no!” Banu cried. Her kite was flying too close to the tree! Banu tried to move
her kite, but it was too late! Her kite got tangled in the tree’s branches. Banu stared
up at her kite. How could she get it down? Banu tried pulling on her kite string but
the kite wouldn’t come down.
“Maybe the wind will blow my kite down.” Banu waited a while but the wind
didn’t blow her kite down. Banu picked up a stick.
“Maybe this stick will knock my kite down.” Banu threw the stick upward but the
stick did not go high enough to knock her kite down. Banu frowned. “I can’t climb
up there. The kite is too high.”
Meow, said Kitty and Banu looked down at Kitty. “But maybe you can climb up
there.” So Kitty sprang from branch to branch. When she reached the kite, she
swiped at it and knocked it down.
“Great job, Kitty!” Banu smiled.
Now, Banu could fly her kite again.
