• Parts of the nervous system

The two major divisions of the nervous system are the central nervous system (CNS) and the
peripheral nervous system (PNS), two different but integrated parts of the same system.

The autonomic nervous system controls those bodily functions without conscious control, and
has two branches: the parasympathetic and the sympathetic nervous systems.
