1. Scope of Work

This Work Procedure covers all activities required to procedure acceptable wall mortar
finish.

3. Material

3.1 Cement

Type of Cement: K-Cement Blue

3.2 Sand

Sand for first coat, second coat and finishing coat is river sand from Tonle quarry. Sand
shall be good quality and free from salt, mud, dust and hazardous levels of organic matter.

3.3 Mortar Mix


3.1     Proposed Mix Ratio (Volume) for 1st layer: 1:3.5 (Cement: Sand)
3.2     Proposed Mix Ratio (Volume) for 2nd layer: 1:4.0 (Cement: Sand)

4. Responsibility
Engineers, under the supervision of the Construction Manager shall be responsible for all
inspection.

6. Procedure

6.1. Normal Mortar to wall

This procedure has been applied for two types: Plastering on the concrete surface and
plastering on the concrete block surface.
6.1.1 Preparation (Marking and Plaster Peg)

a. Leveling pads are 1.5 m each on the wall.

6.1.2 Concrete Surface:

Before plastering the concrete surface must be cleaned and watering.

- Apply bonding agent (SIKA: .)


- 1st coat: 1:3.5 mortar is used and its thickness is around 10mm.
Before applying the 2nd , it must be cured 7 days, the 1st coat should be confirmed no
loose bond.
- 2nd Coat: 1:4.0mm mortar is used and its thickness is around 10mm and keep it about 2
hours (depending on the moisture of mortar which is subjected to weather and area
temperature) till the mortar get a bit dry before applying the finishing coat.
- Finishing Coat: mortar with fine sand thickness is around 3 mm the surface.

6.1.3 Concrete Block Wall Surface:

The block wall surface shall be cleaned from dirty, and watering. The guide level shall be
installed before plastering (the same to the concrete wall).
Spray water in order to avoid dry-up
- 1st coat: 1:3.5 mortar is used and its thickness is around 10mm.
Before applying the 2nd , it must be cured 7 days, the 1st coat should be confirmed no
loose bond.
- 2nd Coat: 1:4.0mm mortar is used and its thickness is around 10mm and keep it about 2
hours (depending on the moisture of mortar which is subjected to weather and area
temperature) till the mortar get a bit dry before applying the finishing coat.
- Finishing Coat: mortar with fine sand thickness is around 3 mm the surface.

Notes: Before plastering, the wire mesh shall be installed in the following cases below:
- Between the joint of block walls and Concrete beam, Column, Wall.
