Unit 16 Let’s Save Electricity Together!

This year, the summer started earlier

than before, so the government worries
about using too much electricity.
Some power plants are already having a
hard time making electricity in Korea.
So, we need to save electricity. Do you
know how to save electricity in the
summer? Shall we learn how to do that
together?
First, close all the doors and windows when you turn on the air
conditioning. Also be sure to turn off the lights, air conditioners,
and fans when you leave the house.
Second, turn off all TVs, computers, and radios before you leave your
house. Plus, it‟s better to unplug those machines when you are going to
be away for a long time, because those machines will use up electricity
even if they are turned off.
Do you stand in front of the refrigerator and look inside for a long time
when you decide what to eat? Instead, try to decide what you want
before you open the refrigerator to save electricity.
