Welcome to this week’s online learning.

We will be using a story called The Wolf and the Baby

Dragon. It is a lovely wee story that we will become familiar with over the week.

On Friday you will be tasked with sharing a retell of the story, The Wolf and the Baby Dragon.
Throughout the week you need to be preparing to share your story with others. Retell the story in
your own way.

You could role play, use teddies/toys, power point (or some other digital way), video, draw a picture
write a poem. It’s up to you. We will discuss this more on Monday when we meet. I have attached
images for you to use if you wish.

MONDAY 18 May
Watch the video clip, Wolfgang and the Baby Dragon.

Look for various size stones or rocks around your neighbourhood. Smooth stones are good for
writing on, but any rock/stone will do. Each stone represents a worry. If you have some paints or
felt tips at home, you can give your stones different colours. Find a packet, bag or a backpack and
put all your worry stones into the bag. Feel how heavy it is. I wonder how long you could carry that
around with you?

Discussion question: How can we make our worry bag lighter?

TUESDAY 19 May
Zoom discussion question: How can we make our worry bag lighter?

Watch this cool link to help you remember what we talked about this
morning. https://www.feelbrave.com/about-our-brains-
What cool things do you know our brain? See if you can make a list of at least 10 brain facts. You will
share 2 of these facts with the group in Zoom tomorrow.

Do some stretching exercises with Catreen. It is really good for your brain!

Catreen Stretches

I am a tree
I stand tall in the ground
As I reach for the sun
I will not make a sound

I am the rain
falling down from the sky
That wakes up the worm
who was sleeping near by

I am a mountain
all covered in snow
I am a seed
and I'm starting to grow

I am a tree
I stand tall in the ground
As I reach for the sun
I will not make a sound

WEDNESDAY 20 May
Zoom discussion: Sharing what we have found out about the brain.
Cheeky Monkey and Wise Owl
What can we do to train the Cheeky Monkey? Try this thankful activity.

THURSDAY 21 May
Zoom discussion: What is something you are thankful for?
What can we do to calm ourselves down? Breathing?
Change the Channel
Just like TV we can change the channel with our own feelings. If we feel
mad, moody or angry, there are ways we can change the channel. What
are some ways that you can change your channel? What helps you to feel
better or calm down?
In your book, draw a little TV and a GIANT remote control with big buttons.
On your remote control buttons, write/draw what you do to calm down.

FRIDAY 22 May
Share your retells with others
Thanks for sharing your week with me. Have a wonderful weekend and we
will catch up again on Monday.
