Beautify the Nature with Colours

- By Mamta Gaurav, USBT

Preliminary round of “On the Spot Painting” competition was held on January 29,
2019.
The event started at 2:30 PM in the central courtyard, under the bright sun and
breezy winds. Students were equipped with different types of painting accessories
like gouache paints, acrylic paints, pencils, canvas, crayons, temperas, oil paints,
ink etc which helped them spill their creativity on the topic - “landscape”.
After the two and a half hours, each one of the participants came up with unique
and ravishing paintings. It was a close competition. Finally, the judges, viz., Dr
Kavita Solanki (USLLS) and Dr Jasper Vikas (NLU) announced the winners.
Srishti Sharma (M.Phil, USHSS) secured the first position and Rohit Jain (USBT)
came a close second. When asked from Srishti Sharma about her painting, as it
stood out from the rest, she said, “It’s a landscape inside your body. It is how you
perceive a human body. I painted a girl who is diving in herself, envisaging
galaxies and viewing the depth of the Nature.”
Rohit Jain portrayed the sunset while Srishti Garg, who stood third, painted an
imaginary scenery.
