Dear All,

This is in reference to the next stage Submission "SITE ANALYSIS" and in continuation
to the mail received before you went for your respective Site Studies.

This is in extension to the sub heads you were given before going to the site visits.

For the Site analysis part to be added in the report I recommend to structure your
findings in the sub categories.

1. Maps, Drawings, photographs and textual descriptions of the locational aspects

of your site. This includes

(i) Location of the town / village / settlement where the site is located

The google image stating co-ordinates should be preceded with the state and
district physical map.

(ii) The neighbourhood / general area where the site is located

This is the image showing the aerial view of the site (Google image) with all
roads: approach, access, highways and service rods to be marked.

(iii) Immediate surroundings of the site.

This refers to the Site photographs as a physical testimony to the stated data.

2. Detailed drawings (dimensioned, to the scale ), photographs and textual

description of your site proper. This includes

(i) Surrounding roads, paths, etc. & their traffic

The road widths, traffic study if any, ped-shed analysis (if available or done
for TOD oriented projects), Important/Critical Nodes and junctions in the
vicinity or periphery of the site.

(ii) Uses of surrounding areas

Activity patterns Tabulated with references for projects like Water front
developments, Market redevelopments etc.

(iii) All "On-site" elements, both natural and man-made

This includes two aspects-

Natural:

a. Landform: Topography and slope Orientation- for

understanding the air movement, Solar Analysis, Daylight
analysis for Contoured sites.
b. Vegetation: Type and Pattern: to see if it impacts the
Relative humidity.
c. Water Bodies: Impacting the Microclimate
d. Open and Built spaces if any: for redevelopment related
projects which need a spatial understanding.
e. Ground Character: it can state the geological data and soil
reports for sites like swamp, dessert, rocky terrains and
other areas of special needs.
f. Necessary Metrological Data

Man-Made:

a. Any human interventions made to the sites or surroundings

of special interest areas- like the retaining walls of the
landslide prone areas
b. Sewer pipe lines, Towers for telecommunication etc. that lie
in the vicinity of the site or High tension wires if running
across the Site.
c. Bye Laws and codes pertaining to your project and Area
which can affect the SITE Planning Stage later on shall be
discussed in this stage.

(iv) All prominent "Off-site" elements that are likely to impact your design.

This includes any Landmarks, Heritage properties, Special Zones like

Cantonment areas, Areas of Special Control, Ecologically Sensitive Areas if
in proximity like-reserves, parks etc.

3. Any other aspect considered essential by your Guide.

4. A Mandatory SWOT Analysis of the site to be tabulated at the end NOT

summarizing the above but withdrawing INFERENCES of the above data.

All the Best
