I feel so honoured they give me the opportunity to represent the brand,

means a lot to me. Since the first time I met the team I feel connected with
them. I’m enjoying it very much.
Can you tell us about the store opening parties, were they a lot of
fun?
As at any party for a new store or even my birthday I get nervous,
questioning myself and how people will react: will they like me? Will they
like the store? But I can tell you it was one of the funniest and happiest
days of my life. From the beginning when we prepared the store till the
last person went out of the door, I loved it!
Who are the guys who run Boner and how did you personally get to
know the team?
There are Cristian, Martin, David, Torsten and Ernesto. Well, those are the
names of the guys who run it but I just have to say it’s not just a team,
but my family I feel part of it and that makes everything special and easy
going.
What will make the Boner Stores in Berlin and Vienna extra special?
As I said before it is a family, meaning this store is not only a place to go
and buy something, but a concept where you get involved in a different
world where all the fetish and fashion becomes fun. I never wore a
harness myself, but now … well … I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed it!

K, so Hep C is a virus, spread
via blood from person to person
and if left untreated can damage
the liver, cause liver cancer and death.
It’s kind of a big deal! We test for Hep
C with a blood test, it’s that simple.
It’s important you tell us if you’ve had
Hepatitis C before as we need to do a
slightly different test to see if you have
been re-infected, but it’s that easy.
HOW DO YOU GET
HEP C?
There’s a rumour out there that you can
only catch Hep C through injecting drugs
and sharing equipment - WRONG! You
CAN catch it this way, so if you’re using
chems and sharing equipment then
you’re at risk. Slamming mephedrone
and crystal meth has a high risk of
contracting Hep C but you can also
catch it from sharing snorting equipment
such as notes/straws and pipes used
to smoke crack/metamphetamine.
Annoyingly the virus stays alive for a long
time outside the body, for days or even
weeks so even after blood is dry the virus
can still be transmitted.
But many new Hep C infections are
transmitted via sex. Oral sex is very low
risk but unprotected anal sex is high

these newer drugs will be cured.
But the bad news - due to the huge
cost of the drugs, treatment isn’t freely
available to everyone straight away. First
of all we’ll wait and see if you clear the
virus on your own. If you haven’t cleared
it within 6 months you’re probably not
going to so then we need to get you on
the waiting list for treatment. On average
people wait approximately 12 months
until they get the medication but this
varies depending on things like signs of
liver damage/how long you have had the
infection etc.
Now if you don’t want to wait and
have the money to do so, you can buy
the medication from abroad yourself
(it’s a generic version) and is like when
people buy their PrEP online. Here at

clinics, we will monitor your bloods and see
you for follow up just as we would have done if
you had accessed the drugs on the NHS. For
first. Don’t forget once you’ve cleared your Hep
C (either naturally or with drugs) you have no
protection against contracting it again so be

The future…

is that we could wipe it out completely! Think
about it. If everyone with Hep C got treatment
and cleared it, no one else could get infected
and it wouldn’t exist anymore. But for this
master plan to work what we need is to identify
now all the people who have Hep C, we need
you to test, especially those of you who are at
higher risk. Then once you know you’ve got it,
we need you to not spread it while you await
your treatment. Then you get treated, cured
and boom - it’s gone from you and it’s gone
from your community. We’ve made headlines
with HIV, let’s see if we can do the same with
Hep C.
