Lesson Plan in Grade 10 – Health
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard:
The learner demonstrates understanding of the concepts in planning a health
career.
B. Performance Standard:
The learner prepares an appropriate plan of action in pursuing a health career.
C. Learning Competency Objective:
discusses the components and steps in making a personal health career plan.
(H10PC-Ivab-1)
D. Specific Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, students are expected to:
a. identify the components and steps in making a personal health career
plan;
b. write their own health career plan using the components and steps; and
c. value the importance of health career through a video presentation.

A. Topic: Planning for a Health career

D. Materials: PowerPoint Presentation, laptop, projector.

III. PROCEDURE (4As)


A. Preliminary Activities
1. Greetings and Prayer
2. Arranging chairs, picking up of dirt
3. Checking of Attendance
- The class beadle will be asked to report the class attendance.
4. Review
- Let the students recall their previous lesson by showing a “Word Hunt”.
Ask the class to look for 10 global health issues and concerns that the
World Health Organization and member-nations are facing.
5. Motivation:
* Job Riddles
Flash the riddles on the screen and let the student answer it
6. Presentation of the Objectives
- Objectives will be flashed on screen.
- A student will be asked to read each of the objectives.
7. Short Reminder of the class rules on
- cooperation and participation
B. Lesson Proper
1.) Activity
-Students will be grouped into four (4).
-Each group will perform the differentiated activity.
-Each group will choose a leader, secretary and a reporter and will be given
10 minutes to perform the activity.
- The presenter will be chosen using ‘The Hat Application’.
- An area will be assigned for each group; chairs will be arranged in a small
circle.

Activity 4- Watch and Reflect!


Direction: Watch a video presentation about Department of Health
(DOH) in conceptualizing the need of more general practitioners, family
medicine specialist in communities and different district hospitals.

 The teacher will be using a PowerPoint Presentation.
 The teacher will deliver the lesson in a form of lecture.

Integration:
Health Career path will give you many benefits in physical, mental, emotional,
social, and spiritual. You can be a helping hand of your own family by means of
taking care of their health. You will be able to keep in touch with all the new
advancements in medical technology, which will enable you to ensure every
patient gets proper care. You can also contribute to the community by teaching
them and giving medical attention. You will touch many lives. You will learn new
things constantly, and always be in touch with people, with individuals who have
their own stories and problems and look to you to help them. Working in
healthcare means you can travel as you work, as healthcare workers are needed
everywhere, especially in big cities that have a large population number.
