Narrative Report

The 2020-2021 election was first automated election conducted in

our school. This was in line with the Department of Education’s “Digital
Rise” that it will conduct a pilot implementation of an automated election
system to streamline the voting and canvassing process of Supreme Pupil
Government (SPG). The idea of this venture is to utilize technology to
help aid not just learning and school instruction. Supreme Pupils
Government is a school organization whose purpose is to train the pupils
to become better citizens in the future and to develop pupils‘skills and
abilities in achieving quality education and academic excellence through
cooperative works among themselves in achieving their goals.

Pedro Sa. Baculio Elemetary School conducted the election last

February 26, 2020. Prior to the automated election, pupils were able to
have their designated schedule for their campaign. The candidates were
given only limited time to have their campaign. Each party independently
planned their campaign strategies and went room-to-room to introduce
their selves and persuaded the pupils to support and vote for them. A
total number of 209 pupils participated on the said event. There were
three participating parties; Genius Partylist, Incredibles Partylist and
Gorgeous Partylist, aiming to be in the position they desired. The
screening for the candidates was held last February 5, 2020 at the
principal’s office. The screening involved interview of the selected pupils.
Its mission is to test the determination and will of the candidates’ and
probably with their platforms in pursuing their goal of becoming a leader.
After the screening, the filing of the Certificates of Candidacy (COC) took
place on February 12, 2020. The candidates filed their COC according to
their respective party. During the last hour of filing the COCs, the SPG
Adviser called for a meeting. In this meeting the responsibilities and
requirements of the activities as SPG Officer were highlighted.

The synchronize automated election took place. The voting process

started at 1:00pm until 3:00 pm. There was smooth flow of election
because everything was computerized, pupils were only going to enter

their username and password and the ballots were there in the screen,
pupils just click and choose who their desired candidates are. The
COMELEC officials were the previous grade 6 SPG officers, they were the
one assisting pupils to vote. The next school day was the inauguration of
the winners in front of the pupils after the flag ceremony. The principal
had given the new elected officers to take the responsibility of the school
as the model not only within the campus but also to the community.
