FILE-ENGINEER'S, HALF ROUND, STANDARD, DOUBLE CUT

1.0 SCOPE :

This standard covers the dimensions and other requirements for Engineers'
Half round files, standard, double cut.
The Information on this document is the property of BHARAT HEAVY ELECTRICALS LIMITED

2.0 DESIGNATION:
A Half round file with grade of cut smooth, having nominal length L=250 mm
shall be designated as:
2.1 On indents:
Half Round File, Smooth 250: AA 622 03 10.

2.2 For issuing enquiries and on purchase orders:

Delete BHEL standard number from the above designation and add the following
given information under Cl 5.0.
2.3 Abbreviated Description: FILE H RND SMTH - 250

3.0 MATERIAL:
Tool steel 118 T3 or 133T3 as stated in IS:3748 or a suitable alloy steel.
4.0 Hardness:

The hardness of the cutting portion of files shall be 745 HV (≈ 62 HRC), min.

5.0 COMPLIANCE WITH STANDARDS:

Dimensions, Tolerances, Material, Hardness, Marking, Packing and other
General requirements:
Shall conform to IS: 1931-2000.
