Written Report
Five Senses
Today, I will discuss about the five senses that we have. Our five senses is very
important to us, because they are interconnected to each other, and our life will be incomplete
without it. The first sense is our sense of sight, which is our eyes, we cannot see things without
our eyes, because the functions of our eyes is to perceive things, like we want to go to zoo, we
use our sense of sight to see different animals there. Second is the sense of smell, which is our
nose, we smell different odors using our nose, like the fragrance of flowers, the delicious food
that our mother cooked to us and also the unpleasant odor of our socks. We use our nose for
smelling. Third is the sense of taste, which is the part of our body that we use is our tongue,
because tongue gives us information to the taste of the food that we eat, for example, we ate
sour mango, the taste of the mango is sour, and many more, sometimes, it is sweet, salty and
yummy. Fourth is the sense of touch, which is our skin, the sense of touch, is it how you feel
when you touch an object, for example, the boiling water spilled into you, so you may feel that
it’s hot and when you touch your hair it is smooth. Lastly is our sense of hearing, the body parts
that we use is our ears, like, when our classmates talk to us, we can hear them what we say;
when listening to music, we hear the good melody of the song.

Our senses is very important to us as a person, because it has a big role in our lives, as
one of them was gone, we cannot do things smoothly, because as I said, our senses are
interconnected to each other, so that we should take care to it.

ST2 FINAL OUTPUT: USE OF POPULAR MEDIA IN TEACHING

TOPIC: FIVE SENSES

We have five senses which are the sense of sight, hear, smell, taste and touch. It is very
important part of our lives because each senses gives us information.

DOCUMENTATION
1. What popular teaching medium did you use for your topic? Give a description about
the feature of the medium.

The popular teaching that I use for my topic is flashcard, but it is connected to each
other, because as I relate to my topic our senses is interconnected to each other. This flashcard
is made of cartolina, and the pictures that you’ll see was personally draw by me. I create this
teaching medium, because I know that if I present it to the target pupils which is preschoolers, I
know they can easily understand it, because preschoolers are visual learner, so if they see it,
they can easily learned and it will entertain them.

2. How to use your medium teaching?

In using my teaching medium, all you have to do is to hold it in front of your learners,
then present it to them, it is easy to use, because I intentionally made it simple because I know
that in their age they may get confused if I use and present it in a complex manner. And for
sure, it will entertain them because, I draw the different parts of the body that corresponds the
five senses. Preschoolers are visual learners, so it’s easy for them to understand what you are
trying to discuss in using this flashcard.

3. What is your concept of popular teaching medium and why is it important to be aware
of the latest trends of technology in the modern classroom?

We are living in the 21st century where technology is everywhere. Technology was used
in the classroom for teaching the students, teachers use projectors, laptops, audios and many
more modern technology for teaching-learning process. Unlike before, that we are contented on
what we have.

The role of technology in education system is to easily deliver the information, that the
teachers want to discuss, by means of using it, it easily for the students to perceive things, just
like if I were teaching the different planets, in able them to deeper their understanding, I must
show them a video presentation, which will discuss the different planets, by that the students will
be more active, because they are not just relying on what teachers has discussing, but they can
make their own understanding on it, they can produce their own ideas by watching it, and
eventually it will have an interaction between the students and teachers, which is very
conducive in their learning.

As time goes by, technology is very important in teaching-learning process because it

can easily deliver it to the students and by using technology, we can be globally competent with
others.
