6 Consequences if the work is not taken : The portion of embankment in Upper Surma-
up under emergency (Description + Kushiyara Project was damaged severely due
Quantification) to flash flood & heavy rainfall on 01-09-2016.
At present, the embankment is in vulnerable
condition, any time it may be breached . If the
damage portion of embankment is not taken
up in emergency basis, the damaged portion
will be breached by the thrust of flash flood of
Kushiyara River and the situation would go
beyond control which would need more cost to
build up. Again to protect the standing crops,
properties and lives of the local people, this
work should be done immediately.
