Course structure
To complete the Graduate Certificate of Entrepreneurship,
you must attain a total of 4 credit points comprising 2 credit
points of core units offered by Deakin University and 2 credit Key summary
points of core units offered by Coventry University, plus • 1 year part-time

Course directors

Associate Professor Colin Higgins – Deakin University


Dr Colin Higgins is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management at Deakin University.
Colin has over 20 years experience in research, teaching and consulting in the fields of strategy,
leadership and corporate sustainability. He has held a number of leadership positions inside and
outside the university that all require the development and implementation of strategic change.

Dr Joan Lockyer – Coventry University


Dr Joan Lockyer is the Assistant Director of the International Centre for Transformational
En­trepreneurship (ICTE) at Coventry University. Formed in 2015, the Centre evolved from the
Institute of Applied Entrepreneurship (IAE). Joan joined the IAE in 2009 and transferred to ICTE,
where she continued to develop and deliver its academic programs. She has worked in higher
education for 15 years.
