Interviews
An interview is essentially a structured conversation where one participant
asks questions, and the other provides answers. In common parlance, the word "interview" refers
to a one-on-one conversation between an interviewer and an interviewee. The purpose of
an interview is twofold: It shows the employer what you can do for the company, and it gives
you an opportunity to assess whether your qualifications and career ambitions align
with the position.

Kinds of interviews

Following are the different kinds of interviews;

 One-on-One interview.
 Panel interview.
 Group interview.
 Sequential interview.
 Stress interview.
 Screening interview.
 Behavioral-based interview.

These are explained as follow:

1) One-on-One Interview:
The One-on -One job interview is the most common interview where
only the interviewer and the interviewee is present. The format of the interview is conversational
with the interviewer driving the agenda in the beginning and the interviewee asking questions
towards the end. The one-on-one job interviewing process is common in many companies and
organizations. Tips for one-on-one interview are stay focused, pretend it’s your first day, come
prepared with backup, and follow up.

2) Panel Interview:
A panel interview is a job interview in which an applicant answers
questions from a group of people who then make the hiring decision. Hiring managers

use panel interviews to gain perspective from other people in the organization and occasionally
those outside the organization. Tips for panel interview are be ready to take notes, ask a lot of
questions, learn the names of your interviewers, and build rapport and try to make a strong
connection.

3) Group Interview:
A group interview is when an employee or teams or employees
interviews multiple candidates at the same time. Generally, employers perform both types
of group interviews in conference rooms to simulate a meeting or team project Tips for
group interviews are listen more than your talk, involve everyone in your answers, and be
confident in your body language and voice.

4) Sequential Interview:
A sequential or consists of several interviews that take place in
succession. This type of interviewing situation can be tiring and repetitive. Even though
you interview with different people, you may be asked the same questions over and over. In a
sequential interview, the candidate meets with one or more interviewers on a one-on-one basis
over the course of several days, weeks, or even months.

5) Stress Interview:
A  stress interview is an interviewing style that companies use to
gauge a candidate's response to stress. Stress interviews can be controversial because they create
a sensitive and emotionally charged relationship between the applicant and the hiring manager,

6) Screening Interview:
A  screening interview is part of the job selection process used by potential
employers, and recruiters, to evaluate the suitability of a job applicant to fill an opening in an
organization. A screening interview is a brief question and answer session, typically conducted

7) Behavioral-based Interview:
Behavior-based interviewing is a technique used in
which the job candidate has the opportunity to demonstrate their potential for succeeding in the
new job by providing specific examples of how they handled similar situations based on their
past experience.

1) Before the interview:

i. Do your homework.
ii. Research the company and its background beforehand.
iii. Search for information online.
iv. It's also worth researching news or activities relating to the specific industry, as this
shows interest.

2) During the Interview:

i. Control your body movements.


ii. Exhibit good posture.
iii. Use appropriate eye-contact.
iv. Use gestures effectively.
v. Listen attentively and turn off your mobile phone.

3) After the Interview:

i. Do an interview assessment.
ii. Get contact information and next steps.

iii. Follow up with the hiring manager .

iv. Connect with your interviewer online.

v. Notify your references.

Employment Letters
A  letter of employment is signed by an authorized representative of a
prospective tenant's employer, stating that the tenant is currently employed there and providing
basic information about the employment arrangement, such as salary and title.

Following are the kinds of employment letters;

 Resignation letter.
 Follow-up letter.
 Rejection letter.
 Job acceptance letter.
 Thank you letter.

Their detail are given as follow;

1) Resignation letter:

A letter of resignation is written to announce the author's intent to


leave a position currently held, such as an office, employment or commission. Such a letter will
often take legal effect to terminate an appointment or employment, as notice under the relevant
terms of the position; many appointments and contractual employments are terminable by

unilateral notice, or advance notice of a specified period of time, with or without further
conditions. In resignation letter, a person has to confirm the exact date of his resignation.

2) Follow-up-letter:

A  follow-up letter is a letter that consolidates between you and the


recipient a relationship and sets the platform of continued communication while referring to
something of the past. A follow-up letter can be a follow up to a previous letter, a meeting, a job
application, an order confirmation, a contract, etc.

3) Rejection letter:

A job rejection letter informs employees that they have not been chosen


for a job. Rejection letters give them this information formally and respectfully so that they can
continue their job search. They are also known as employment rejection letters or
candidate rejection letters.

4) Job acceptance letter:

The job acceptance letter should be to the point and positive, and


should include the following: thank the employer for the job offer stating the full job title.
formally accept the job offer. discuss the terms and conditions of employment - salary, benefits,
work schedule, starting date.

5. Thank-you letter:

A letter of thanks or thank-you letter is a letter that is used when


one person/party wishes to express appreciation to another. Personal thank-you letters are
sometimes hand-written in cases in which the addressee is a friend, acquaintance or relative.
Thank-you letters are also sometimes referred to as letters of gratitude. These types of thank-you
letters are usually written as formal business letters.
