Introduction

In course 841, understanding advanced methods and assessments in the classroom

is a large emphasis. This assignment’s focus was approaching K-12 online learning.

Creating an online source for students to be able to still get their daily work in for their

class. This assignment was to create a website for one specific class. For that class, there

must be an assignment for each day of one week. I chose to create a history class website

where each day was learning about an important civil rights activist for Black History

Month.

Purpose

The purpose of this assignment is to develop your understanding of various

instructional approaches that exist in education. The recent months due to COVID-19

proved the importance of being able to learn online. More and more classes are turning to

being online focused so creating a lesson for online learning was a fantastic assignment

that I am sure that I will need to use in my future teaching career.

Revisions

The grade I received on the Visual and Blended Learning Unit was a 200/200.

The comment left by my professor was simply “Hi Sean, This looks good and I have no

concerns at this time. Thanks!” Due to this comment as well as it being an online site, I

did not make any revisions to my website.

What was learned

This assignment taught me how to create a lesson plan for my students without

being able to explain the lesson. Having to be detailed in the assignment so my students

will be able to open up the assignment and immediately understand what is being asked

from them is a challenging aspect to teaching. In a classroom, I will be able to stand at

the front of the room and explain the assignment in detail, as well as answer any

questions my students have about the assignment. But, without being there, I will not be

able to answer any questions there may be so my assignments must have clear

instructions.
